The four ties involving our Club's are interesting ones aren't they especially Old Bradwell United v Hale Leys United who excitingly renew acquaintances. Sorry to steal, sorry, nick, Karen's thunder again but the Club's last locked horns in a SSML Division Two fixture on Saturday 29 August 2015 when Hale Leys United were still in the League and pulling up trees, having won the Division Two Championship for two season's in succession. They trounced Old Bradwell United 4-0 that afternoon at their Aylesbury base, surprisingly only finishing second in that 2015/16 campaign to Kent Athletic before sadly leaving the SSML the following season.

Great Horwood v Buckingham United

If this afternoon's tie between Great Horwood and Buckingham United is only half as entertaining as the pre-season friendly at leafy Winslow Road between Great Horwood and Buckingham United Reserves, which finished 7-5 to the away side, we will be in for a thriller.

Only one tie took place in the end this afternoon, FC Beaconsfield v New Bradwell St Peter was called off late in the day and will now take place next Saturday (18 December) which won't please Milton Keynes College Football Academy who were due to host New Bradwell St Peter in a Division Two fixture:

Saturday 11 December

Berks & Bucks FA Charles Twelftrees Trophy Second Round
FC Beaconsfield P New Bradwell St Peter
Great Horwood 2 Buckingham United 0
Great Linford P Aston Clinton

The full Second Round draw (ties to be played on Saturday 11 December):

Berks & Bucks FA Charles Twelftrees Trophy Second Round
Stony Stratford Town v SB Phoenix

Sadly no longer SSML but a groundhopper from another Forum was at this tie:

Stony Stratford Town 2 SB Phoenix 4, Berks & Bucks FA Charles Twelftree Trophy 2nd Round, Att: 20, Admission/Prog: No
This was the original game of two halves. The home side, a very youthful team made up of players who had
progressed through the age groups were quick out of the blocks and their faster, more skilful play looked to be too much for the visitors as they took a 2-0 lead with two long range strikes and with the visiting 'keeper having gone to hospital with a head injury it looked like an uphill struggle. However SB Phoenix (anyone know what the SB stands for?) pulled one back in the first minute of the second period and by the hour mark were ahead as their strength overwhelmed a tiring Stony Stratford side. A fourth towards the end sealed a place in the next round for Pheonix in a game played in intermittent light rain. As a Stony Stratford side played in the South Midlands League a few years ago, the ground still has everything you would expect of that level, a substantial cover on half way with around a dozen seats as well as standing room for maybe 75 and dugouts opposite. There are also four floodlight pylons on each side although with a 1.30 kick off these were not required. Fully railed with hard standing on three sides, only one end was open with junior pitches beyond the rail while changing facilities were 200 yards away across the neighbouring cricket pitch. A pre-match stroll along the busy main street led us past adjacent The Cock Hotel and The Bull Inn which apparently led to the phrase 'Cock & Bull Story'.
Post match refreshments were courtesy of the Blackened Sun Brewery Tap, situated in an industrial unit a few miles away. The surroundings may have been spartan but the beer was in fine fettle, including a couple of stunners.

Huge disappointment for Aston CIinton this afternoon at Aston CIinton Park as they narrowIy miss out on a prestigious finaI pIace. In the other Semi FinaI SB Phoenix beat Finchampstead on penaIties:
