Lets get ready to rumble this evening then although there isn't an awful lot to whet the appetite is there apart from some interesting County Cup ties and no Premier Division action. I'm not sure what Karen's thinking is when she is arranging midweek fixtures and with the weather still okay.

London Colney v Hadley 0-3

Three buses get me to Cotlandswick, on what is undoubtedly the coldest night of the season so far, to see a fairly routine Hadley victory on a very heavy pitch.  Hadley rested three key players, but still had far too much for a spirited, but limited Colney, and goals from Jordan Edwards on 11, Alfie Bartram on 33, and Luke Jupp on 43 meant that the tie was all but settled before half-time.

The second half, with Hadley always in control, lacked urgency, and as the temperature dropped, the game simply petered out.

Probably worth mentioning that Leverstock Green luminaries, Messrs Moore and McGleish, were in attendance.

The two sides meet again at Cotlandswick on Saturday, in a league fixture.  The score may be different, but I don't think the result will.

A groundhopper from another Forum was at the New Roker Park, there's always a mention of Brett Donnelly or the Stotfold bench misbehaving isn't there:

Stotfold Town 2 - 1 Rushden and Higham United (HT 0 -1)
New Roker Park - JSJ Stadium, Spartan 1 - Step 6
Admission £6/3, Attendance- 181 and 1 dog
Programme - sold out by the time I got there
My first visit to see Stotfold at home this season, and a local game for me being mid week. There are traffic lights immediately outside the car park as they are building new houses opposite, some attendees were parked on the road as they wanted a quick getaway and the car park isn't quite big enough....Stotfold have started the season well, now with a comfortable cushion at the top of the table. Good to see a few other local hoppers there, as well as one of my non football friends, his son was one of the mascots.
R&H started well, taking the lead half way through the first half. Stotfold started the second half better, and were rewarded with 2 goals and another that was offside. The Stotfold manager did get into an altercation with the referee at one point and I think may have been shown a card; but as I was chatting to my friend at that point I didn't really see what happened.

I wouldn’t go that far but anything is possible. Stotfold are way ahead I think.

Winslow Boy - I have a feeling Stotfold could 'implode' at some point due to Brett Donnelly's antics and temperament and you could take advantage of that however are four Club's not going to be in the melting pot for promotion again this season to the top flight.

They have a healthy budget, strong support and players with experience from above. Few more sides will have a say over the season.

Karen's 'competitor' Mike Godfrey's brief 'In The Stand' summary of the midweek County Cup ties involving SSMPremier Division Cub's, namely Holmer Green and Flackwell Heath in the Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup, Baldock Town, London Colney and Hadley in the Hertfordshire FA Senior Cup and New Salamis in the London FA Senior Cup. I wonder if Mike also feels threatened by Karen and her 'Inane Ramblings (From Up Norff)', I very much doubt it:

Winslow United entertain Stotfod this weekend

This will be a real indication of whether Winslow can be in the conversation come the end of the season. It certainly wasn’t the expectation.

That will be the route for this Saturday.

Much easier now that the Leisure Centre is open and can cut across through the car park.
