No sub keeper on the teamsheet.

Maamaria goes in on Alex in the fist few minutes of the game.

Westley tactics methinks.

He should have walked.

Duku was awful for their second penalty.

For a big bloke, he got brushed off the ball way too easy and then couldn't recover.

Shearer and Moore need to be starting every game with Francis on the bench.

He's just not got what it takes.

Margate's goal at Dover was down to him (admittedly good finish). He just looks like he is lacking in confidence.

Jeff, my thoughts exactly re no sub keeper, only difference being at least you had the courage of your convictions and put it down in black and white, but let us be honest it was such a blatant foul one has to think that way. Someone somewhere said something about a late challenge?!!!

What amazed me was the inconsistently from the ref that you can book a player for over celebrating and yet give out the same punishment for assaulting a goalkeeper. Duku did not have a very good game but maybe I watch a different game but Ben abbey performance was poor again he just does not hassle and chase defenders when in possesion and when he loses the ball he gives up and does not chase back. If he put 100% in like Louis and Rob you would not complain about his performance unfortunately I do not think he is good enough for Conference football.

Yes to both of those, Jimmy. There will always be days when players aren't on top of their game or are being marked by a particularly good defender but, for instance, do you recall Tosty tearing Yeovil apart down the right side last season, as he did to many (not all) teams? Louie hasn't been given a fair crack at the whip when it comes to starts but he shone on Saturday and the first occaision he did actually start a match, what did he do? He scored, mate. After 10 minutes. And that's pretty good in my book.

Tostao was alright before his Ireland escapade but afterwards he wasn't, he could do some amazing things but could also go missing in games, especially away. He lacked that yard of pace to beat players that he once had and was nothing better than a fringe player.

Evans has undoubted ability as he wouldn't have been at Peterborough had he not. My main issue with him is not making himself "undroppable". He came on against Margit away and did well but in the home game he contributed little. He scored against Telford, fair enough, but was nothing more than wretched against Weston away. He has to make the manager keep picking him like Drury has, like Moore has.

The abuse Ben Abbey gets is beyond me, the guy is the only genuine 6 yard box striker we have at the club but he still gets pilloried every week by the terrace Ronaldos. He and Howarth are the best partnership at the club, the stats show this.

I must confess that it hadn't occured to me about no sub keeper but undoubtably you are right it was such a blatent foul which should have been punished with a red card.

can our no.7 do any good in your eyes paulo.

I was merely pointing out some areas he could improve to be a more effective player, leader & skipper. A position which should not warrant automatic selection but on performance, IMO.

A great skipper can also motivate players during bad spells in a game, something desperately lacking during our 2nd half performances of late. Wouldn't you agree?

If I was the ref, with the view I had, I'd have sent him off.

But I wasn't, and he didn't, so he didn't.

This is a quote from the stevenage web site , from a question about the chalenge on alex and the reply is above. go to the stevenage forum and read the comments even they think they got out of jail.

Don't forget Wilko could have been sent off against Woking. Win some lose some. Hope Andy Ford is still looking for someone upfront. Roy isn't the answer although hope he proves me wrong

We were having a worst ever striker conversation and came up with a few early Aldous signings , obviously Louie Affor , then Jez Millbank Adme Chebabe ( the sporting lisbon player!!!) im sure there were more

We've had a few that weren't quite up to scratch: Rossi Franco, Robbie Sinclair, Balbir Beila, Lenny Dennis, RIchard DImmock and his one O Level in Woodwork. And can anyone recall some hard bloke called Neil something, prison officer, played in the mid-90s for a couple of games?

as a captain imo he does lead by example, but what do u class as a great skipper, again imo he seems the best man for the job. your comment on discipline all season 5 bookings so far and a sending off that was not warranted, not everyone is perfect.this is from one of the few who do tackle in the team.

We have players at the club who give their all but who are just not up to it. Alex O'rielly is a hard-working player, but doesn't seem up to it, but then again he has the legacy of Wilko to live up to.I must admit, every time Ben Abbey touched the ball before the Woking game, i sighed, but he has really answered his critics and proved me and the ABC (anti ben club) wrong. I would put Drury ahead of walshey, his delivery, flair and vision is much better.

True but that was debatable, what happened on Saturday wasn't it was a blatent assault even some of the Stevenage fans agree it should have been a red card.

I doubt that Ben Abbey will ever pull on the fleet number 9 shirt again. I mean, look what happened to Tostao for talking back to and arguing with the manager. We were OK, but not the usual Fleet we like to see. I doubt that the ref knew what he was doing half of the time, what with all of the noise coming from the stevenage bench. And boy, if they want to make noise, the can make a hell of a lot of it.

Fleetboy said that he thought that Duku's sending off was harsh, and not criticising his opinion, but don't the rules state that if you are the last man, and the player is through on goal, if you pull him back then it is a straight red card?

I agree that Maamria should have been sent off for his challenge on Alex in the first few minutes, and i think even the stevenage bench were a bit surprised that he didn't get sent off.

Essendoah wasn't as good as everyone expected i don't think, but i still think that Fordy was right taking off Ben Abbey first, because you can't really get away with arguing with the manager.

i thought htat happened after the game, so still no visible reason to take our best striker on the pitch off. On that point does anyone actually know what happened?? I hope he isn't dropped due to our strongest attack being Him and Howarth which will be needed away to exeter!
