MunchKin - yes, I'm surprised Karen hasn't been on to reIiabIy inform us why it's off, I see that Sarratt's Manager Martin Loakes handed in his resignation after four years in charge so something is cIearIy not right at the King George V PIaying FieIds aIthough I gather Martin wiII be seeing out the season.

Sarratt cannot raise a side and have been charged, we await the Management Committee decision on what happens next

Karen - It's all very odd isn't it, surely Sarratt can raise a team for their final game of the campaign, they have a Reserve side playing in the Herts Senior County League Division Three who aren't playing on Monday. Also there is no mention of the postponement on Sarratt's Twitter page when usually the Club keep it right up to date.

Milton Keynes College Football Academy v Totternhoe

It's a must win game for Milton Keynes College Football Academy but it's unlikely to be enough to finish their campaign in the top five, Totternhoe are on an impressive run of eight wins and a draw in their last nine games:

Aston currently leading at Old Bradwell. Is this the greatest ever comeback title challenge in the history of the Spartan.

Fair play to them, superb run of wins.

we just didn’t do enough today, now relying on Pitstone to win Monday. Gutted

Huge disappointment for Eynesbury United as the CIub miss out on a promotion berth by faiIing to finish in the top five.

Saturday 30 April
Division One
Wellingborough Whitworth 4 Winslow United 3

A groundhopper from another Forum was at this thriIIer, I wonder whether WinsIow Boy was one of the ten away fans:

Wellingborough Whitworth 4 Winslow United 3
Spartan South Midlands Division 1
Att 80 (10 away )
Adm £5
Parking free on site
f&d £3 bottle of Peroni & crusty ham roll
When i left home my intended destination was the play off at Kempston
One of my rules of hopping
Try and avoid busy motorways on bank holiday weekends
Ignored this and one and three quarters hours later was still only at Northampton ( around thirty mins normally ) and again at a stand still
One of what should be any hoppers rules
Always have a couple of backup games in your back pocket just in case
So nipped of at the nearest junction and an easy 15 mins drive later arrived at my first ever SSM league game .
The area around the ground has certainly changed drastically since i visited neighbouring Towns ground ( the day of the Hillsborough disaster , you don't forget those ) . It's now surrounded by shops & fast food outlets . The ground itself is neat and well looked after and a little better than i expected with four separate areas of cover . Overall it felt a well run club .
The added bonus was a game with issues to be decided . Welly needed a point to guarantee a place in next week's playoffs. As for the visitors a win would guarantee runners up and home advantage in the playoffs.
First half was very busy, very open but also very mistake laden , not surprising on a bumpy, undulating pitch.
The home side had the better of the opening half with the more highly placed visitors never getting going, and by half time where 3-1 ahead. Once the home side added a fourth the second half seemed to be moving sedately towards a comfortable home win. Then for no apparent reason the previously incontrol home side developed a case of the jitters and started playing what one of their fans described as ' suicide football '. The visitors sensed the change, woke from their slumbers and went for it . Two late goals and within a whisker of a third saw the homsters very happy to hear the final whistle.
So both sides go into the playoffs with the possibility they could meet next Saturday in the final this time in Bucks .

No traffic problems on the way back.
