Saturday 1 April - SSML Results/Reports

I will post Saturday's fixtures at some point tomorrow, they don't seem to appear on the Sports Shots website any longer however refer to Full Time. The Bush Hill Rangers v Old Bradwell United Anagram Records Trophy Semi Final should be an interesting affair:

There's nothing worse than painstakingly producing a programme as a labour of love and the match is called off:

Milton Keynes College Football Academy could be a bit 'ring rusty' having only played twice during March:

I wonder whether the Championship shield will be brought to Bell Close next Saturday if they win this afternoon at Hitchin Road and at The Brache on Tuesday evening, see today's match programme:

A groundhopper from another Forum was at Forde Park:

South Midlands League Division 1

Admission £6.00, Programme - free with admission, Attendance 35, Cheese Burger £2.60 (8/10)
A fully deserved win for Langford against second in the League Rugby Borough. Basically Langford wanted the win more than Rugby who spent most of the game whinging at the Referee.
I expected Rugby to win this with Langford battling the threat of relegation. How wrong was I as Langford missed numerous chances and hit the bar. They deserved to win more emphatically.
It's a good set up at Langford. Friendly people, nice Clubhouse, enough spectator cover for the attendance's they attract and cheap food. It's a shame their crowds are so low. The attendance wasn't by Rugby bringing no support with them.
A decent programme was included free with admission. It also covers the last 2 home games of the season against Real Bedford and Amersham.
Sadly a very unnecessary incident at the end of the game due to the Rugby changing rooms being locked. One of their players lost the plot throwing effs and jeffs eveywhere then directing a tirade of abuse at a female spectator. Quite pathetic.

Potton United 0 Risborough Rangers 1

A groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance. Also see the line ups:

Potton United 0 Risborough Rangers 1

First visit to the Hollow this season, chose this because the pitch drains particularly well and it stood up well, though the grass was a bit too long to be conducive to passing football.
Not much at stake today and early on it showed with not a lot of any interest happening.
That changed on 20 minutes when a first time hit from 20 yards ripped into the net to give the visitors the lead. Rangers dominated the rest of the half and really should have extended their lead after creating several good chances.
The second half was completely different with a fired up Potton getting on top. They didn’t really test the keeper enough and the one time he was beaten the ball struck the underside of the bar and bounced out.
Always enjoy my visits to this tidy ground. The locals are friendly and the clubhouse is one of the better ones in the area.
