Good luck to the twenty SSML Premier Division Club's in action in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round on Friday and Saturday, unfortunately there are two all SSML ties:

Friday 1 August – (all kick off 7.45pm)

There's a school boy error on Full Time, they have the Enfield FC v Wormley Rovers tie down as being played on Saturday 2 August:

A groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance at Hertingfordbury Park last night to witness the 0-0 draw:

Enfield 0 Wormley Rovers 0. FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round. At Hertford Town. Southern League Div One Central v Spartan South Midlands Premier. Admission: £10. Printed programme: Yes, but they sold out by 7pm. Crowd: 200 approx.
Aggro seems to be following me around this season. At the final whistle of this absorbing rather than thrilling cup tie, mayhem started with players of both sides charging to the far end. From what I could tell, some youths supporting Wormley had been behind that goal and Enfield keeper George Edgeworth had confronted them.
Just 75 days after the final of the 2024-25 competition, the FA Cup opened for business for the new season. Step 4 v Step 5 here and only Wormley's second ever tie in the competition.
A local derby on a cool evening at a charming venue...how could I resist?
The first action of note was a bouncing shot from distance by Enfield's Umaru Kabia that clanked against a post.
A Bradley Empson free-kick for Wormley in the centre circle was driven deep into the box. It was met by Craig Tolley's head but the ball was directed straight at Edgeworth. Nathan Brathwaite for Enfield then had a shot touched over the bar by away keeper Ryan Hammond.
Wormley's Shay Darcheville was a regular threat on the right side, if sometimes a little prone to losing his balance.
Near half-time, a pass was played into the path of Enfield's onrushing left-back Alex Clark but Hammond denied him when it looked like he was about to score.
Wormley striker Matt Walsh met a cross with a scorpion kick. The ball looked to be looping over Edgeworth but he leapt cat-like to pat it away.
Overall, the visitors had rather the better of the first half, which was maybe not surprising given they are expected to be near the top end of their league and Enfield will probably be making up the numbers in theirs.
Second half, Kabia was robbed of the ball and Darcheville was played in down the right but he shot wide of the far post.
Enfield improved after the interval, having more possession with Wormley doing the counter attacking.
Wormley sub Harry Philippou flashed a shot just wide in the closing moments. The visitors then defended desperately from an Enfield corner.
Good contest but no goals.

Eynesbury Rovers 4-1 Potton United. F.A Cup Extra Preliminary Round. Potton were 1-0 up at half time and in control. Not sure what happened after that.

There were some ugly scenes after the FA Cup Extra Preliminary match between Enfield and Wormley Rovers last night when the Enfield FC goalkeeper became involved in an altercation with a couple of the away supporters, followed by a large melee. Not what you want to see at football and especially non-league.
