Two interesting looking Quarter Final ties take place this evening, there shouldn't be any problems at the Recreation Ground and the Wormley Playing Fields although the news on Harlow Town going into administration recently is worrying (see link):

A groundhopper from another Forum attended the surprisingly one sided Quarter Final tie between Biggleswade United and Harpenden Town last night that was switched to Rothamsted Park:

Entry: £9/4, no prog; Attn: h/c 48
This was switched to Harpenden Town's 3g pitch in order to get the game played, but all it did was hasten Town's exit from the competition as they were blown away by a very good Biggleswade United side.
Both teams had periods of domination in the first half, but it was second place United who looked much more dangerous going forward. Quick and accurate, they found their wingers in acres of space on a regular basis and in Liam Smyth they have a mobile and skilful goal machine. It only took 2 minutes before he nicked the ball near the halfway line, beat the chasing defender and fired in a shot that was deflected passed the Town keeper. Five minutes later, Harpenden's left back hit a woefully short back pass and Smyth pounced on the ball but shot just wide. Yet another pass out to the United right winger saw the Town left back beaten again and a cutback from the touchline was slammed into the roof of the net by Smyth for his second. The hosts did produce a number of good moves which ended with shots just wide, but mainly their build-ups were laboured in comparison to their opponents, who continued to produce chances at will. They hit the post, forced a double save and found the net again on 44 minutes only for the offside flag to go up.
Town never really looked like rescuing the game after the break, and once Kit Brown let fly with a 25 yard screamer for 3-0 it was all over. The remaining half hour was a low key version of the preceding hour, with United picking up a couple more goals. Smyth completed his hattrick on 62 minutes when he was presented with the ball in the box by a hapless clearance, and Sam Ezenwaka's doubly deflected shot finished off the scoring on 76 minutes.
This is the third consecutive 5-0 that Harpenden Town have been involved in. Apart from a win over 19th placed Crawley Green, the other two games have been losses to first and second in the table. Third placed Cockfosters visit Rothamsted Park on Saturday. Nil five, anyone.
