I thought I'd put this up early having just listened to the Torquay post match interview following their 2-2 draw at Hampton.

Torquay have a few injury problems and have been leaking goals so it might be a good time to play them.

We have nothing to fear and I'm sure they will be expecting us to sit in, keep it tight and defend.

In this respect I'd like to see us play an attacking line up and go for it.

It's a free shot, nothing to fear and nothing to lose.

Totally agree RR  Although most bookies clear favourites they’ve won just three of their 7 games and have conceded in all their home games and have a few injuries just need a positive attitude and we can get something imo

Must admit I don’t like it when Scott uses the ‘free hit’ phrase. Makes me feel he’s saying to the players it’s no issue if we lose as they’re full time, get crowds of 3,000+ and have a much bigger budget. We’ve already shown against Ebbsfleet having all those in your favour means nothing if we apply ourselves with the correct mindset. After a poor start to the season we’re now on a great run and I’d want the lads to ‘go for it’ this Saturday. We’re shouldn’t fear Torquay or put them up on a pedestal.

We have shown thoughout the years we have given the bigger teams and favourites a game where they have had to work hard to get a result.

Glen, we talk most weeks in the changing room about being underdogs in the majority of matches we go into. I don’t believe this makes the lads work any less hard! It just takes the pressure off in front of a big crowd, where some lads haven’t played before. I want them to play with freedom and enjoy it where you’ve seen in the past it’s actually worked well for us against some of the so called bigger sides! We will always go out to try and win every game that we play!

I think I'm right in saying the squad are going to Torquay by train tomorrow.

Not sure this is cheaper than hiring a coach/mini bus.

If this is the case hopefully the trains and connections are not cancelled and run on time.

Yes always a risk by train then again it only takes one accident if driving to have the same effect. I would imagine it’s more expensive by train too, maybe they’re staying over?

If you have to enter a lion's den, it is most certainly best to enter very calmly, quietly and composedly, take time to investigate the lion's weak points, and do absolutely nothing to excite or encourage the lion.
Unfortunately, at 3pm yesterday when we entered the lion's den at Plainmoor, we had
covered ourselves in honey, and then added another coating of chocolate on top,
carried big  legs of lamb under each arm and in each hand,
had put delicious sirloin steaks in our socks and in our pockets
and were singing at the top of our voices that famous song from the 1960's hit film musical  "Oliver"
"Food, Glorious Food".

A goal conceded in the very first minute had me looking at the skies in disbelief and annoyance, and it was only when I saw a couple of Slough fans cheering that I realised that it had been disallowed. 
Did we learn from this ?
Nope.
In a matter of only a few minutes later, what seemed like an near identical move down our right flank , coupled with poor defending, led to a strike which did count.

1-0.

Creditably, we managed to punch the lion on his nose soon after, and equalised with a goal from Jared.
Did we let the lion sit back  and think about the damage we had inflicted on him ?
Nope.
We more or less went up to him and waved a juicy steak under his nose, shouting "Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty."
We conceded again very soon after, this time from a corner
From my viewpoint at the other end of the pitch,( and I haven't seen any video's of the goals yet),from memory I don't think any Slough player in the penalty box moved for it, and I thought at the time it was a 'keeper's ball all day long. 
Like I say, I haven't seen any video's of the goals so I could well be wrong. 
Shortly after, we were attacking, and next thing you know  there are 3 or 4 Torquay players running into our half with the ball with Johnny Goddard struggling to get back the only outfield player between them and our goal.   
Despite Johnny's efforts, he sadly diverted the cross into our net.
The fourth goal was basically" Show Time" for Torquay, and then straight after they almost scored a fifth, and  I was anticipating a horrendous final score line. 
We couldn't have got the lion more excited and hungry.
We again landed a punch on the lion's nose with a great poacher's finish from Wiktor to make it 4-2, and somehow made it to half-time only being behind by two.
It could amazingly have been 4-3 at half-time if a great volley from Peter had not been brilliantly saved by the Torquay 'keeper.
Second half I think the Torquay lion's appetite had been sated, but even so things at the back seemed  better with Tyrese and Tarik performing well. 
I was delighted to get to the final whistle with a 4-2 score line.
I'm sure that our players who have stepped up this season from ranks below the NLS learnt a great deal about what it means to be playing at NLS level yesterday, which in the long run will only be a good thing. 
Highpoints of the day ?
There were some.
1, It was great to see Amy our usual coach driver back.
2,On a lovely sunny day in Torquay you get a beautiful view of the surrounding hills and countryside from the very back of Torquay's away stand. 
3,Despite getting to the ground at 1.45pm I had enough time to walk to see the sea.
Lovely it was.
4,On my walk, I came across a very strange cricket pitch, where the boundary was about 10 yards higher than where the actual wickets were on the pitch.
A bowl shaped cricket pitch. 
Very bizarre. 

So yesterday wasn't all bad.

Right, I'm a bit late giving my pussy cat Lucy her breakfast.
"Here, Kitty, Kitty , Kitty."

I think so far this season Kiki Oshilaja has been one of our stand out players without getting much credit for his performances….. hopefully his injury is something he will recover from quickly.

It also looks like Reiss Greenidge is carrying an injury.

Not a great position to be in at this stage of the season.

It was always going to be a difficult task with a make shift defence and so it proved.

Disappointing goals to give away but in all honesty in the first half it looked like they could of scored a few more.

Great credit to the team for sticking at it, scoring two superbly taken goals from Jared and Wiktor and a second half which ended at 0-0.

Having listened to Paul Wottons post match interview I can only wish Torquay the very worst for the rest of the season.

He complains about not having enough players and his players being tired because they've had to play Saturday and Tuesday's.

Give me a break.

They're supposed to be a full time outfit paying top money to top players and he moans about injuries, not having enough players and being tired because of playing two games a week. 

No credit given whatsoever to a part time team who have played the same amount of games with injuries and then goes on to say the goals they conceded were two of the worst defended goals you're likely to see.

If Torquay don't go up I'll be cheering from the rafters.

Totally agree i bet they have a young reserve team with all ex professionals in that he could go to bolster his squad when required. 😡

A part-time team beat them 2-1 last week and yesterday made the short journey to Maidstone-another full time outfit-and turned them over 3-0. Just sayin, as we social media people put it.
