Goal times: New Bradwell St Peter (St Luke 71 & St Michael 88 mins), Long Buckby (54 mins)
New Ground: No. 545. New Bradwell Sports Association, Bradwell Road, Bradwell, Milton Keynes, MK13 7AD. 1 mile north of Central Milton Keynes. Shares ground with cricket, temporary fence divides the overlapping grounds, two prefabricated buildings, incorporating a social club, being the larger of the two and one used for football changing rooms. Corner flag adjacent to cricket square, partly railed off pitch, new floodlights and 50 broken seats, also children’s playground. Not far from the concrete cows, this is Milton Keynes and surrounded by parkland trees, with a windmill as a backdrop.
Pitch: partly railed off, fully grassed, wide stripes across, undulating on a slight slope
Weather: dull and dry 13-14c felt colder - Travel Miles: 94. 
Pull a rabbit out of the hat, don’t change your mind and keep going. New Bradwell St Peter are a Club I have watched twice recently as the visiting team. With a Milton Keynes location, this needed to be followed up, in a roundabout sort of way.
Much difficulty in getting the ball under control, the pitch was more uneven than it looked. Long Buckby not shooting and wasted a few opportunities, St Peter struck base of gate and the ball bounced away. 40 yarder from Long Buckby landed on the top netting and hooked wide when running directly in at goal. Then, they headed wide and yet another chance was wasted as they headed over the top. Not much from St Peter or St Paul. Long Buckby were lucky not to suffer a ‘sin-bin’, constant berating of the referee. Long Buckby needed to be more concerned with their lack of goals. Half-time 0-0.
A much improved second half. The Referee had killed all the backchat, having threatened four ‘sin bins’ in the first half. A deflected rebound came back off the home post, then Long Buckby scored with a cushioned header at the near post from a corner kick. Then, they struck the outside of the post and the ball bounced away. St Peter equalised from a free-kick, taken by St Luke. Looked like the visitor’s keeper dropped the ball over the goal-line.
He was injured in the process of preventing the goal and after a short delay was substituted by a knee-high grasshopper, who probably had never kept goal in his life. At last, St Peter playing some football, with forward momentum and some belief. St Peter turned in a rebound from a corner-kick for an unexpected winner. St Peter only had three or four chances in 90 minutes and two of them went through the pearly gates.
A special mention to Lisa, the lady in charge, who talked non-league football with me for 30 minutes, took my money, gave me my programme, then escorted me to my seat. Absolutely fabulous.
