Only visit here was back in 2009 for an FA Sunday Cup and considerable differences now with a couple of new smaller stands and the 3G pitch. An excellent fast-paced encounter with the hosts well on top 3-0 at the break, before they added a 4th on 69mins. Sarratt pulled one back on 81 before the hosts netted a 5th in the 90th minute. Being so close to the station managed to get the 9.52 back and arrived back at midnight into Ramsgate.

Oddly the Oxhey Jets v Tring Corinthians AFC First Round tie was not widely advertised as taking place last week (Tuesday 13 January) however it was postponed anyway, as was the other Amersham Town v Everett Rovers First Round tie, and will now be played this evening (Tuesday 20 January):

A very good win for Everett Rovers at Dodd Road last night who will host Harpenden Town in the Semi Final of the competition, pencilled in for Wednesday 1 April:

A groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance at Dodd Road last night to witness the win for Everett Rovers against former SSML Club Oxhey Jets:

Attendance: 56 h/c, Admission: £6, No progs
A fast & furious game, too fast at times. Everett are top of the SSML's first division, looked lively going forward and certainly deserved their win although Amersham had enough clear cut chances to have made the scoreline much closer.
Everett's ground is at Dodd Lane in Watford and the best thing I can say about it is that at least it's their own place, rather than just some hub they turn up to on match days. However, like many new Step 6 grounds, the focus is very much on participation and spectators are an afterthought.
I thought it's one of the least appealing 3G cages at this level with spectator access pretty much restricted to one side, plus a narrow 3 foot wide path behind the near goal. The only cover at present is a small shelter than would protect about 20 people from the elements. All of the other facilities are outside the ground in the smart, modern clubhouse where the tea bar shutter was firmly shut and the only hot food inside the clubhouse was clearly marked as being for players only.
