A groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance at Dodd Road:

South Midlands League Division One at Dodd Road.
Everett Rovers (Inter Milan Colours) 3-0 Letchworth Garden City Eagles.
Admission £3 (Over 60 Con), Badge £3, Programme via a bar code, I didn't bother. Hot/Cold drinks and snacks from the bar.
Attendance 76.

One of a very few new grounds now doable for me on my limit of within a 75/100 miles drive midweek, this being 53 miles from home. Easy to find on the right on the main road into Watford a mile from the M4.
Everett have started like a house on fire, undefeated, top, and hosted 18th placed LGCE.
Everett started very quickly and tested the visiting keeper a number of times, the visitors backline looked very fragile. However surprisingly the hosts couldn't make the breakthrough and as the half progressed the visitors became more confident and came closest to scoring with a shot that was tipped onto the bar.
However eventually took control again and scored on 54, 76 and 78. Good to have a first half chinwag with esteemed hopper Eddie McGowan from Northants and also chatted to a fella who'd come down from Sheffield, I reckon 30 or so of the attendance were perhaps hoppers.
The game was very fractious, the behaviour and lack of respect from many players was tedious, running in screaming arms waving and intimidating the young Ref when they think they saw a bad foul, the visitors being worse in this respect.
The ground is caged and only two sided for spectators, and as yet has no seats and and only a small covered area for about 10/20 people. I should imagine for promotion to Step 5 they'd need a stand and to open up one side to make it three sided to spectators. It's all very tidy and new but functional. The clubhouse sits near to the large car park and is a good size. 1 hr 40 to get there, 1 hr 15 to get home.

Premier Division
Kings Langley 2 AFC Welwyn 0

A groundhopper from another Forum was at the Orbital Fasteners Stadium, no doubt AFC Welwyn boss Brett Donnelly won't have been pleased with the defeat:

Kings Langley 2 AFC Welwyn 0. Spartan South Midlands Premier (6th v 9th). Admission: £10. Programme: Online. Crowd: 121.
In theory, a win for either team tonight could have seen them go second behind leaders Winslow United.
Gripe one: This match was advertised as a 7.45 kick-off, yet both teams did not enter the pitch until 7.48. The action started at 7.52. Hmmm.
Gripe two: I was a little surprised to see the respective kits. The away side's dark blue shorts and socks were rather too similar in my opinion to the home side's black shorts and socks.
On 23 minutes, a free-kick pumped into Welwyn's box wasn't cleared and the loose ball was struck by Alfie Osbourne against the crossbar.
On the half-hour it all got a bit unsavoury. James Towell for Kings Langley went down holding his head following a challenge by Sammy Nicholls, who was booked.
This prompted both sets of players to engage in a heated debate about what had just happened. This saw some jostling and ended with home keeper Charlie Crowley on the ground. The result was a couple more yellow cards and Towell had to be withdrawn due to injury.
Welwyn's Coree Wilson was put clear down the left channel but the advancing Crowley blocked his shot with a foot.
Almost a goal for Welwyn at the start of the second half; a far post header by Daniel Sears from a corner was cleared off the line.
A big penalty appeal for the home team when Henry Dudley was sent sprawling in the box, the sound of boot on boot could clearly be heard. But no penalty given. Had this been a Premier League match, the next few minutes would have been spent watching numerous replays of the incident.
The subsequent crowd reaction resulted in one spectator (home) marching to confront a member of the away following (a white-haired senior gentleman with a stick).
Kier Dickinson for Welwyn blazed over the bar when he found himself in space in the left side of the box. The otherwise impressive Kieran Turner then squandered a similar chance for the hosts.
Turner forced a sharp save from Ashton Broom-Alexander. The Welwyn keeper then touched wide a deflected shot by Louie Collier.
It felt like a goal was coming...but, in the words of Jeff Stelling, for who?
The answer was Kings Langley. With ten minutes left, Collier broke down the left, cut inside and fired low into the net before mocking Dickinson during his celebration.
Collier then sealed the win after breaking down the right, beating a defender then scooping the ball over the advancing keeper Davor Suker-style.

Local press coverage from Hitchin Road and Arlesey Town's brief media report:

https://www.biggleswadetoday.co.uk/sport/spireited-potton-unitd-beaten-at-high-flying-arlesey-town-5379985

A 4-2 win tonight gave Arlesey their 1st "double" of the season over Potton. The away side shocked Arlesey by taking a 0-2 lead with a penalty and a good strike but the game changed as the Potton centre half was sent off for a rash challenge. Arlesey then took advantage with goals from Alie Bangura and Jordan Brown to leave it level at the break.
Arlesey went ahead with what will probably be the goal of the season for Alie Banguras 2nd goal and it was wrapped up with the last kick of the game with another great goal this time a 1st of the season from Arel Amu.
