Currently down to 23rd with Salisbury and Eastbourne continuing their upturn. At present it is no more than we deserve.

It was always going to be a big ask. Anyone know why no Nino or Sam?

Conceding within the first minute really gave us a mountain to climb.

Whilst I'd hoped for a more comfortable second season at Step 2, unfortunately we're already going to need to rely upon luck and the wheels coming off with some other clubs. Whilst we're not losing by 3 or 4 this time round, we need to find a way of winning. I'm struggling to watch Gavin's post-match interviews, so god knows how he feels giving the same interview week in week out!

Yes I think it’s going to be a mini league scenario for us bottom 8 teams are our league rivals and if we can Nick a couple of results against the full time teams that would be great just need to be realistic we are not going to be mid table but hopefully we can go on a run and win a few but there are no easy teams in this league so need to take our chances and not rely on set pieces for goals 🤞🏻

Yeh first minute goal was a killer, saved but into our own net, sums up our fortunes right now

We had barely settled in to watch the game before Dorking scored their first. Bad mix up at the back, free header for their CF and it's in the net despite Rhys' best efforts. Terrible start. Unlike Saturday, we grew into the game and did have a good chance to equalise. Avan Jones really should have done better after a good snapshot from Olly Knight was palmed in his direction. He got to the ball first but blazed it over.

Second half Dorking looked more likely to score a second than we did to equalise and so it proved. It was the type of half chance that we have been creating and missing - but they scored. How many times has that happened this season?!

Olly Davis and Eli Ackerson (new signing from the academy) both came on with circa 15 minutes to go (good they were given a decent amount of playing time) and Davis in particular left his mark. He looks like he can make something happen whenever he gets the ball and scored an excellent free kick. I think he will get a starting place pretty soon. We had one last chance to snatch an unlikely point in injury time when the ball again fell to Avan Jones, but this was a much harder chance than the one he had in the first half and it again went well over the bar.

Another defeat but we were competitive against one of the stronger teams in the league, with plenty of players out injured. We just need some luck .....
