Another club with an expensively-assembled squad who have struggled to gel. 

We've turned in to last season's St Albans - dropping points late on and generally losing by the odd goal. And now the injuries and suspensions won't help.

I'll show a little more faith as we now have Dillon and Davis so I reckon we will scrape it 2-1

Presume we will still have Thommo and Donaldson available as their suspensions won't kick in till 7 days after the offence.

still hopeful that our new forwards can bring us a new lease of life but 

1 don't think a month will be long enough for us

2 our style of play still concerns me that we rarely seem to keep the ball for long enough.

I dont usually predict results but i fancy a single goal victory 1-0, 2-1 or3-2. For the sake of symetry, as we would go above them, alphabeticaly.

No, not St Albans.. We’ve turned into last seasons Enfield Town

Salisbury, Weymouth, Hemel to name a few last season. Same capitulation late on is happening this season but with a completely different squad.

Not completely different squad as we still have several players from last season eg Youngs, Parcell, Benjamin, Thompson, Hawkins, Forster, Knight, Brown, Leonard....we are going to struggle regardless I don't know what people expect

I think we all need to stay positive and get behind the boys tomorrow night for this crucial fixture and opportunity to get out of the relegation zone.

Take a look at Horsham. Its pretty much the same squad that won them promotion - players who have been at Step 3 for several years. Yet they have been able to move up a level. They are 4th with 29 points!

Surely thats the blueprint for what can be done on a limited budget?

Totton and Horsham came up this season and don't seem to be having the same issues we do?

Horsham have won 8 out of 17 and Totton 9 out of 15.    Pretty certain they are both part time like us and I stand corrected if either has a big money man behind them as Horsham who have spent some time at our level in the Premier League (Isthmian).   Unless they drop like a stone they already seem to have done enough to ensure their safety this season.

We did really well to stay up last year however those teams above us are seeming to put that argument to bed.

We have struggled to put teams away and unfortunately the performances don't seem to be improving greatly.   I'm expecting nothing other than a tough fixture on Saturday in the Trophy and whilst Gavin did so well to get us promoted, those days/performances seem a lifetime ago and whilst I'm not in the Gavin out camp(yet) the football this season hasn't been good enough from what I've seen and we can be told many times that the spirit in the changing rooms is great but it's not going to stay that way if our senior players keep letting us down and the football doesn't improve.

4 losses in a row can't be good and I'm not sure we can rely too often on the youngsters being our main escape route.

We've scored the 4th fewest goals this season and when in certain halves we can't muster a strike of significance on goal then things do seem to be worrying.

Totton have splashed the cash in recent years and until very recently had James Beattie as Director of Football. It appears that they may now have plateaued financially as they are seeking investors in order to move from merely being what they have termed 'sustainable' on the playing side.

We really needed a better start to the season than this. Otherwise, we're going to need to find 'play-off form' again in the middle part of the season in order to stand a chance of survival.

After 16 games last season we had 10 points. This season we have 12 points. It wasn't really until Match 26 last season that our form began to improve. I put that down to a combination of our squad improving and mid-table sides actively weakening their squads as they sought to save money with their seasons petering out (- several clubs publicised the release of some of their bigger earners at the time). Fingers crossed we see that happening again!

Tend to agree - whilst the squad, and performances (in the most part) are significantly better than this time last season, we really don't have much more to show for it. If we could see out games where we've taken the lead (obviously a huge IF), we'd be sitting so much more comfortably now. I still don't think we're far off turning this around, but I've been saying the same since early September... In my mind, Gavin still has a huge amount of credit for the last two seasons, and has already shown that he has the wherewithal to put together a team that can stay in this division, so we should be focusing more on what he can/should be doing differently, rather than who might replace him.

Have got 2/1 on an enfield victory .. we’ve been above them til Saturday, are at home, and I’m hoping our dynamic duo of olly and cian will see us through 

2-1 and 500 attendance as it’s cold
