First Loss

The evaluation is we switched off twice and Arthur not being with it. We had the chance to score I think 5times in first half and dominated the second.

Losing against our Essex full time rivals was kind of written in the stars. But we learnt a lesson tonight, let’s move on from it. (Chelmsford were poor imo as was the ref)

Well it had to come to an end at some point. We started slowly and both goals came from uncharacteristic mistakes at the back which is disappointing. Few decent chances and a couple of half chances but we needed to grab one back before half time and that Wraight header was the one. Having said that, chelmsford had a 20-25 minute period where they scored their first and second where they could easily have scored 3 or 4, as much as we grew into it, it was probably chelmsford tactics to sit in and they defended well to be fair to them. They will be there or there abouts come the end of the season no doubt. Cannot fault the players at all, it’s a tough ask playing Saturday and Monday (Monday night games need to be banned, how Chelmsford can’t play on Tuesdays or Wednesday is baffling, absolutely no recovery time , they’ll have to if they get promoted because the national league would never allow it). What an amazing run we’ve been on, let’s try and prove all of the other fanbases wrong that this is just a bad day at the office  and we will stick around because we have proved that we can.

All good things come to an end as it did for the urchins tonight but it was a brilliant achievement to go sixteen games undefeated, and the team and management deserve all the praise they have received so far this season. I do not really  have any comment about the game only to say I thought Mikai Welch was awesome tonight and did not deserve to finish on the losing side.

All good things come to an end. We had several half chances, without forcing their 'keeper into a save. Lots of effort (as always), but you could see it wasn't going to go in when a couple of them goalmouth scrambles didn't go our way.

Credit to Chelmsford, they set up well and made themselves hard to break down.

I felt if we had gotten 1 before half time, we would've gone on to win the game.

Oh well. Onto the cups now..

An incredible run by the lads, especially remarkable being part-time.

Thought after the first 20 mins we played well and should have had a pen or two (How Lyle Taylor did not get sent off with that outrageous and blatant stamp on Coops I'll never know. It was shocking)

We go again Saturday!

In a way I’m glad as it’s taken the target off our backs and it sounds like we had the chances to get a positive result out of it. Thank you Hornchurch for a great start to the season and we reset after finally getting our trophy jinx resolved
