v Farnborough

Massive 3pts. Clean sheet and a very good all around performance from the boys. Let's hope this starts a decent run of form heading into the next few games.

Thought Ansu was superb in midfield this evening and Kiki was also superb at the back. Just need to get a consistent few games in a row now out of Kiki and Reece at the back so they can build on their partnership, that should help improve the defensive performances.

Always nice to stick it to Spencer, roll on the interview where, no doubt, they actually won the game😂😂

as alluded too in the rest of this topic a much better performance tonight we still are using too many long high balls and not controlling the ball when recieving it , the set up for the corners was much better and will improve more with practice and tonight our corners looked more dangerous, i think the front pair need to push further into the box when the  wingers get down to the byline i think they will have more success if the do this.  all in all a good all round performance and a well deserved 3 points

I'm sure Bakes could enlighten us as to the workings of the Spencer mind...

Even first half, 1-0 up from a well worked goal which culminated with a goal from debutant Ruben Shakpoke.

Missed chances was the theme of the second half, the game should have been put to bed in the first 20 minutes with 3 or 4 great chances going begging.

Not sure what happened in the last 20 minutes, perhaps we ran out of steam in midfield, our pressing and challenging disappeared and we were put under severe pressure and but for 2/3 blinding saves from Adam it could have been a different outcome.

Overall a very good performance and an excellent and crucial 3 points.

Decent debut from Shakpoke but for me MOTM performances from Kiki Oshilaja and Adam Desbois.

I know I see all football matters through the eyes of a partisan Slough Town fan, but as other people on here have already commented, Spencer  surely saw a different game to the one I thought I saw last night if he really believes what he said after the match.

I think Spencer is a very worried man.

If he really thinks that that Farnborough performance last night was a massive improvement on their performance on Saturday against Walton, then Farnborough I suggest must have been truly horrendous at the weekend.

He says in his interview that his players gave their all on the pitch last evening.

Really ?

I think our players worked their socks off for the first 70-75 minutes of the game, closing people down etc in a manner typical of a Scott Davies team.

The last 15-20 minutes I thought we , whether through tiredness or nerves at getting closer to the final whistle and the 3 points we all were so desperate to obtain, sat back and this allowed Farnborough to get on top.

Even in this last quarter of the game I didn't feel Farnborough were "busting a gut" to get back into the game.

Spencer's Farnborough team have just started a run  of three crucial games for them.

Yesterday away to us, Saturday away to Enfield and then the following Tuesday evening away to Chippenham.

If they lose all three then Farnborough are really in the  mire.

On what I saw yesterday I think that Farnborough losing all three is a definite possibility.

If I was a Farnborough fan I'd be very worried.

I think Spencer is trying to just give his team some  encouragement for these upcoming vital fixtures.

Slagging them off in public regularly doesn't seem to work !

That's what I think.

Or perhaps I just overthink things. 😄

HR I could not make it last night to cold and far for me.

As we know what managers say public and to their can be different.

Commentators said our goalie made 2  to 3 superb saves one of then the best save made at Arbour Park.

Well done to the squad and management on a brilliant win clean sheet and 3 points.

We have not been playing badly it's just finding the net is the problem.

Can totally understand why you couldn't make it last night Steve, though I didn't think it was that cold watching the game yesterday.

(But perhaps my bobble hat, gloves  and 5 layers of clothing might have helped a tad ! )

If you had been there I think you would have been happy to see a performance from our team that gave us fans a lot of hope and optimism for the many games to come.
