A groundhopper from another Forum was at Haywood Way:

Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division
Aylesbury Vale Dynamos 0-2 Risborough Rangers
Admission £8, no paper, Att: 88

With a number of fixtures falling victim to the weather, when AVD posted at around 1400 that, barring an afternoon downpour of biblical proportions, their game would be on, that became my game of choice.
15th v 7th at the start of the play, this win moves Rangers up to 4th, two points behind the leaders.
payment is taken as you enter the clubhouse, which was showing both the Fulham v Manchester City and the Newcastle v Tottenham Hotspur games. Covered standing is available behind the goal nearest the entrance, and the stand is on the nearside. Hot food was also available.
After a frenetic opening 15 minutes, when the game was crying out for someone to put their foot on the ball, Risborough settled, and pretty much killed the game off with two goals in three minutes midway through the first half - firstly with a low shot from the edge of the box from number 10, then number 7 strolling through the home defence far too easily before making it 0-2.
The hosts did put the ball in the net on 51 minutes, but the whistle had long since gone for offside. A minute later, Rangers came close to extending their lead, but number 9 saw his effort clatter off the post.
Steady run back up the M40, and back home at around 23:15.
