Only 1 game survived the weather tonight

Eastbourne 0       Horsham 2

Eastbourne now well in the drop zone  have played 2 games more than us and trail us by 7 points

Less than two weeks ago we were in a very similar position to them….. things can change very very quickly in this league.

We drew 1-1 with Anyanwu equalizing in the second half.

I was there.
Well, it was free entry to season ticket holders.
Yes, it was dark.
Yes, it was very cold.
Yes, it was very wet and miserable in the second half.
Despite all this, I'd still rather be at Arbour Park on a night like this than away at Chelmsford on any Monday night, or even at Concord Rangers on a sunny Saturday afternoon in August.
I found it quite an enjoyable game.
Plenty of decent build up play.
Several decent attempts on goal by both teams.
Our central defenders at kick off were Aaron White and Ethan Mosdell.
As usual Aaron played well.
I was quite impressed with Ethan.
He's down on our website list of first team players and EDS players as a midfielder, but to me he played yesterday as a centre half.
Did very well.
Won a lot of balls in the air, and looked like he knew what he was doing.
Two good goals in the match, although ours I thought was a trifle fortunate.
Watford took the lead early in the first half, a good shot from the edge of the 'D' curled inside the goalie's left hand post.
We equalised halfway through the second half.
Nnaemeka was on the ground injured/cramped up (?) right by the Watford penalty box after a Slough attack, and slowly managed to get up and start to hobble back towards the halfway line.
Before he had retreated too far, we had a very quick attacking break on the opposite wing.
Nnaemeka was obviously unmarked having been lying on the ground 'injured' only seconds earlier.
He turned back towards the Watford goal, and when the ball was crossed to him in the box he controlled it nicely, and put the chance  away well.
That's how I saw it anyway.
A big 'downer' on the evening was an injury to Luke Holness.
Early in the first half Luke and a Watford defender were running after a ball played towards the Watford penalty area.
The two collided together ( I thought it should have been a free kick to us, but the ref said play on), and Luke ended up lying injured on the ground.
I didn't think it was a dirty challenge or anything like that, just an unfortunate coming together which sadly resulted in an injury for Luke.
He had to be 'carried' off the pitch, his arms around the shoulders of two helpers, one either side of him, as he couldn't put any weight on his right ankle.
It didn't look good.
Would be staggered if he was available for Saturday.
Hope I'm wrong.
All in all, (apart from Luke's injury), an entertaining evening.
Better than watching the dross on the TV.

Sounds like it was more of a reserve team match, in that no one that played on Saturday played last night?
 

If that was the case, what a fantastic result.

An injury was what I was afraid would happen and annoyingly to a key first team player, frustrating!

I wouldn't call it a reserve team match.

It was a game to give minutes to some of the first team squad who have been on the bench lately because of the form we've been in and also to have a look at some of the EDS players.
