V Maidenhead H 3 Apr.

They play tonight against a team fighting for survival whilst we are fixture free

There is an interview with their manager in the Advertiser bemoaning their injury problems unable to play 4 first choices last game injuries and an international call up says the replacements didnt play well and thats why they slipped out of the playoffs

Lets hope they have a torrid time against Bath tonight

As for our game if they still have the same problems we have   Id be at least looking for a point

Only 4 unavailable due to injuries and call ups? they can count themselves lucky.

Torrid time yes but I think we want Bath to lose or draw.

Maidenhead were much the better side. Bath have a new manager, but were poor with little goal threat, albeit against the league's best defence. I really don't see where they will pick up points on that performance and it's wins they need not draws. I was expecting better from them.

Liam Dulson is Maidenhead's biggest threat and he's out for the season, as for the other missing players defender Welch-Hayes may also be out for the season and Sam Barrett definitely is. Not sure who the 4th player is. This all, of course, pales into insignificance compared to our injury list.

A very good attendance of 950+ on a Tuesday night btw.

Hope they are all still tired for Friday's game!!

Was Scott there btw? Some uncomplimentary chanting from the Maidenhead scrotes during proceedings.

I fear in retrospect that crowds at the Dolphin in the late 60's/early 70's were perhaps less respectful to opposition managers than maybe they should have been. I recall Tommy Coleman of Barnet getting some "stick" in particular. Must have been something he said in the press.

Another memory was referee Ken Markham marching on to the pitch to a crescendo of boos for past perceived misdemeanours and solemnly bowing in turn to the four corners of the ground from the centre spot.

Slough  2.  Maidenhead 2

That'll do! That point means that 3 of the basement teams cant reach our 51  Bath would have to win all their outstanding 5 to reach 52 and they are away to Torquay on Tuesday  Im sure today has made us safe!

Hmmm, what pun to use… WHAT A BRILLIANT FIGHTBACK!!! We left all the drama for the last 15 minutes as before that it was quite subdued from us disappointingly. But credit where it’s due, a superb comeback and had we had another 10 minutes u think we may have won that. Dirty old magpies could only manage a single point against us, hope that scubbers their play off hopes!

Maidenhead are in last place in the play off group but the next 4 teams are within 2 points!

And Bath would half to overturn a massive goal difference gap

Well I was at both games today, firstly the Slough Town Cup Final and then our game and have to say the endings were just crazy.

The Slough Town Cup Final saw the Britwell goalkeeper march 70 yards and land a right hook into the back of a old Windsor player and then continue his onslaught with a head butt which I think was on another. Then followed the chaos in our game at the end.

Amazing moment in the cup final was when a substitution was being made and the player coming on only had a pair of black shorts on so to get him on the field of play the player coming off had to take his yellow shorts off so the player coming on could put them on, let's just say they were a snug fit.

Onto our game have to say we never gave up again even after the penalty miss we kept trying and trying until we got our reward. Every player put a shift in and were determined to get something from the game which we thoroughly deserved. The chaos at the end obviously got too much for Scott who decided to have a lay down.

It's been a tough week with the passing of my father in law at the beginning of the week so nothing but praise and thanks to the rebels who dug in and for bringing a little bit of joy in what has been a difficult week.

A thoroughly deserved point in the end against a Maidenhead side who were well versed in the dark arts of riling the opposition and time-wasting.

It was a different story at the hour mark however; Maidenhead had looked comfortable in what had been a dull, timid affair that had utterly failed to live upto the hype. This all changed with the quadruple substitution, after which we were by far the better side.

I don't want to go into the details of the shenanigans at the end at the moment; I'll leave it up to Scotty and others to clear up what happened and what didn't happen. But I know what I thought I saw and it was disgusting.

Btw has anyone else seen the Maidenhead lot on Twitter/X? Hot headed to say the least!
