A fairly straightforward win for league leaders Everett Rovers against a very young looking R&H team. It only took the Rovers ten minutes to break the deadlock when a corner was flicked in at the near post. The impressive Harley Sells added two more not long after and the fourth, knocked in by Clifford five minutes before the break, was the cue for the visitors to start arguing amongst themselves and with the non flagging assistant ref.
Mo Khan grabbed a second half consolation for R&H when he ran clear, rounded the keeper and slotted home. Before that though I saw my miss of the season when Khan was again through, chipped over the advancing keeper but saw the ball strike the post and roll back across the goal. In ran Okunnu with nobody near him and from six yards out he managed to lift the ball over both crossbar and perimeter fence and into the car park.
The win consolidates Everett Rovers' position at the top of the table, four clear of both Desborough Town and Eaton Socon with all having two games to play. Both Rovers games are away but given their substantially superior goal difference effectively only two points are needed for them to finish as champions.
The Dodd Road ground is 30 minutes walk from Watford Junction Station - Watford North is a bit nearer but only has one train per half hour compared with the former's more frequent service. It is a very standard looking cage and artificial pitch with spectator access on one side only although there is a very narrow walkway behind one goal. The only cover is a small stand which would probably accommodate 30 people at most. There are no seats. Club house, dressing room and all other amenities are in a building alongside. I'm not au fait with Step 5 ground grading requirements but I would expect that several additions will be needed if promotion is secured.
