Wow, some major leaps going on here!

We’ve gone from speculation that Scott has been approached, to him definitely leaving, to the Club being sold, to who the new Manager is going to be, and being relegated next season….. and all in about 12 hours.

It feels a bit like having a cough and the family starting the planning of a funeral.

Curtis, I'm feeling very down at all this conjecture about Scott.

Don't make me laugh !

It doesn't seem appropriate ! 😄

Certainly livened the forum up a bit even if Scott doesn't leave 😂

I'd be surprised if Scott went as he would have to spend far more time away from his young family with all the extra travelling involved.

Although he will miss out on Truro of course!

If Aldershot want Scott as their new manager the only things I can see that would hold him back is the extra travelling involved not only in the NL but being full time he'll be travelling down to Aldershot most day's of the week.

I think he's also got a very good job that he loves doing.

I would guess full time football manager would be his dream job so I think that would sway him plenty if offered. He’s used to travelling all over the country in his current day job so I doubt that would be a hindrance.

We were not allocated the collective noun of "a misery of Slough Town supporters" for nothing.

Of course then you've got to add in the money factor.

Would Scott be worse off managing Aldershot than doing his day job and managing Slough?

What would an Aldershot Town manager get as a wage?

I would guess an average NL manager would be around £50k. Maybe in Scott’s job it’s something he could easily slip back into if this full time stint didn’t work out?

What’s their playing budget like? 😂

Unlimited Polish Vodka for us......usually comes out about 11pm and we'll throw in a few bags of Walkers Cheese and Onion.....very healthy budget and very tempting I'm sure. 😂

Have they?

It was only a few weeks ago you said Slough Heating were happy at the Polish Club.

I'm joking....

It's been previously mentioned on here that Aldershot are heavily in debt.

The previous owner was someone called Azeem, with a net worth of 13 million, got fed up with bailing the club out so he sold the club to Dean Wood who's net worth is 4 million.

On the Aldershot forum a supporter complained about paying £23 to watch their last game of the season against Truro, suggesting as a good will the club should make it £10.

The owner Dean Wood replied 'you should be so lucky I have to shell out 25k every week'.

That makes there wage bill a staggering 1.3 million a year.

Unless money comes in from some where else it doesn't take a genius to work out it won't be long before either they go bust or the owner tries to sell up.

All I know is my thumb is starting to ache refreshing this post hoping that Scotty squashes the rumours..

You’d think if all this talk was baseless rumours then Scott would come on here and say so? That’s why I think it’s actually happening, if he’s still here on Saturday i wonder how many people will ask him!

My gut feeling is he’s going and can’t really blame him and wish him nothing but the best,I’d like to think the club would say something Friday evening so fans could at least show there thanks on Saturday

I think Scott not being backed will have something to do with it, he’s not been allowed to push us on has he

I get being sustainable but you have to speculate to accumulate, we’ve brought in numerous sponsors/partners in recent years, where is the money?

I don’t blame him at all if he goes and in my opinion he’s been hung out to dry by the club, it’s a massive risk letting him go and one that will backfire spectacularly next season but the club will only have themselves to blame for not backing him enough financially.

9 hours ago, G Brown said:

I think he has, to me, he’s had to constantly come out and do the same interview for weeks and where is the support from higher up telling the fans what’s going on? It just seems to be Scott fronting up all the time. Let’s face it, we are no further forward on on the pitch since the takeover which was over 3 years ago, that says to me that money will not be pumped into the on pitch product but rather infrastructure which means the club is being readied for sale again. That’s a risky game because the product will probably be Step 3 in 12 months time, which means less attractive for sale, and the other risk? The money at Step 3 now means we’d be stuck there for years or relegated again.

So we're in agreement then: the club is going to pot because, despite all our new sources of income, the owners can't or won't put money into the playing side. Whatever our views are on our off-the-pitch activities, surely we can all agree that the playing side is rather important.

Would now be a good time to remind you of what you said to me on the Torquay thread (to much acclaim judging by how many likes it received)?:

It has nothing to do with anyone believing we’re too small for this level etc, it’s a matter of being real and realising we do not have the sums of other clubs, yet.

How do you propose we push on? Pot of gold at the end of a rainbow? How do you propose the club stop Desbois and Makowski from going to full time clubs that are at the level above or pushing for promotion? The club are trying, in the background, to get us in a position to push on but there is no magic wand.

Who is pleading poverty? It’s more about being real, Nathan and perhaps if you think you can do a better job, go and sit with Ash and the Board and understand where the club currently is.

I, like others, do not have my head up my ass and be oblivious to how football actually works, and those that do, are as you say, very boring.
