My gut feeling is he’s going and can’t really blame him and wish him nothing but the best,I’d like to think the club would say something Friday evening so fans could at least show there thanks on Saturday

Yes great idea Mark, would be a massive shame for the amount of time Scott has given us if he was not given a proper farewell on Saturday (could be a cheeky marketing ploy!).

You’d think if all this talk was baseless rumours then Scott would come on here and say so? That’s why I think it’s actually happening, if he’s still here on Saturday i wonder how many people will ask him!

He's probably thinking it over and discussing it with his family. Who can blame him, we'd all do the same if a decent offer came in.

I can get that sorted tonight, we train every Wednesday and have a Committee Meeting afterwards each week.

See you at The Polish Club, the vodka will be waiting.....😂

Alternatively we are at home Saturday and we than have a club members 21st birthday, the vodka will be flowing from about 5pm onwards.....🤣

Could make the end of season awards interesting.

So we're in agreement then: the club is going to pot because, despite all our new sources of income, the owners can't or won't put money into the playing side. Whatever our views are on our off-the-pitch activities, surely we can all agree that the playing side is rather important.

Would now be a good time to remind you of what you said to me on the Torquay thread (to much acclaim judging by how many likes it received)?:

Whatever you think, Nathan. What I’ve said on both threads is correct (to me!), it just depends how you look at it.

Well, how I see it is that not two weeks ago you were defending the club to the hilt, citing that the club are doing the best it can with no money, magic wand or pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. You also said that as I couldn't do any better perhaps I should go and have football explained to me by Ash and the Board.

But now Scotty looks like he's leaving us (we'll have to wait and see if this actually happens), all of a sudden you're saying that he's not been allowed to push on and has in fact been hung out to dry by a club who won't back him with any money? (Oh, and we're being sold and are doomed to relegation next season).

Talk about changing your tune!

Ok, that’s how you’ve interpreted my comments, which is fine, no problem. As we all know, written words do not necessarily convey people’s views fully. Yes I defended the club and yes I defend Scott, there will be differing views from us all, just like if we sat down with Ash or Scott. I will finish by saying I never once said you should have football explained to you. I could go on and argue with every point you have made, and explain all mine in detail but it’s not worth it. It seems you come on here very angry but again it’s just words isn’t it.

Yes that is how I interpreted your comments as that is precisely what you said; I'm glad that there is no problem here. Do you wish to retract or correct what you said? After all we all say things in the heat of the moment which for whatever reason we regret afterwards.

And if me pointing out the hypocrisy in your argument comes across as being angry to you, well as you say they're just words aren't they? But I'll just ask you which one of us has ever directly implied that the other has their head up their arse?

That makes there wage bill a staggering 1.3 million a year

I have read that they are cutting the wage budget by 15% that is a £200,000 reduction.

So, looks like you are about right, they would have had a £1.4m playing budget last season falling to £1.2m for the coming season…. & that is only considered a National League mid table playing budget.

You're probably right.

It's a big decision and a risk for him to move from a club where he's highly thought of, has loads of memories and friends and is financially sound to a club that can be best described a financial basket case.

With their debts and outgoings it's hardly surprising they need to make cut backs.

A wage reduction of 15% is another very good reason why they would want someone like Scott to recruit bargains to try to save them from the inevitable next season.

There's an article in the non league paper from the Aldershot owner.

Of his successor, Wood explained: “It might not be some big name. It’s got to be someone that’s got a bit of guts, ‘let’s go for it’.

“Yes, everyone would like me to go and get a celebrity, but we can’t afford that. I don’t just want a cheap, crap manager; I want someone who’s got a bit of a point to prove. Like with the players.”

The recruitment process has “got to be quick,” asserts Wood, “because we’ve got to buy a team – and I don’t want all the good players gone.

“I think there will be quite a few changes. I think it’s needed. Whoever comes here must put that shirt on with pride, or don’t come here.

“We’ve got to be out there giving everything.”

🤣

Bit like myself then but don't worry we don't discriminate, we hate everybody equally at Heating.....😂

I'm sure we can stretch to a Mars Bar, Cup of Tea and one of our new Club Pin Badges, that will swing the signing or nothing will!
