Absolutely, I just feel that next season more than ever those plans should be paused for a year.

18th??? Didn’t realise that, hmmm, the jury is out massively on AJ then but I can see him being appointed, he would do himself a favour by keeping Yella, Trent etc in my opinion, that connection to the fans is vital for a club like Slough.

I think the National South takes a lot of knowing and Alan ticks a box in that regard. I believe that Hampton were due to be rock bottom on everyone's list the season he was there as the owners had walked away and he got a younger side playing above their means. going by some of the comments on this forum over the last season, i would look to employing one of you "fans", as you seem to be connected to the board and know what they are or should be doing and you certainly seem to know how to manage a football team going by the comments.

I wouldn’t mind seeing someone like Danny. Robinson from Hungerford.Like Gavin McPherson has a relegation on his CV , but has a good record of developing youngsters & has also won the Vase with Thatcham .Probably a cheaper option also than more experienced step 2 managers.

I don't know why we're discussing this yet. Scotty hasn't gone yet, and if we're right about him being Aldershot-bound but it all falls apart at the last minute and he ends up staying, then we're all going to look silly.

In any case, clubs will just do what they want regardless of what's said on an unofficial fans forum, so let's just trust the process. Doing this has never led the club into any trouble 😂🤣😁

 

P.S. some speculation on the Aldershot forum about an announcement either today or tomorrow (someone says at 3.00pm). Who knows whether there's anything behind this!

Yes many on here may look silly if that happens, but I think that would be surpassed by the happiness of him staying.

But football is all about speculation, why should this be any different? How many times (have all of us) said, "Oh, I hope we get xyz in the next round if we win on Saturday"? All part of the fun of being a football fan! Would definitely be more boring if all we ever discussed was the past!

Nathan, no one will be looking silly if he doesn't go to Aldershot.

This is what supporters on football forums do, speculate etc. especially in the silly season.

True, but in your example we know that we'll definitely get someone in the next round if we win, regardless of who we want and don't want.

It may yet be the Scotty stays as an agreement can't be reached on some detail. I see no other reason why an announcement hasn't been made yet even though it's been an open secret for over a week now that they're talking.

I like most others am expecting him to leave and join Aldershot. But it is as they say, not over until the fat lady signs.
