But as we all know, contracts mean next to nothing especially in football. You’d hope in terms of compensation, Aldershot at a minimum should pay up the value of his contract.

It's what I would have been asking for as a minimum.

So let’s say Scott was on around £400pw (could be more, could be less) that’s £32,000 over 2 years. Add in the fees we’ve received in the last year plus the circa £150,000 from the cup run, you’re talking over £200,000. Surely a decent wedge of that should (dare i say… has to) be allocated to this season’s budget? Even £50,000 would equal an extra £1,500 odd per week which could make a big difference.

The Aldershot ff can't believe Deane is going to cough up 2 years salary.

Mind you they probably think Scott is on about 50k 😂

Possibly depends on how much the new pitch is costing.

There's no more speculation to do apart from who our next manager will be and despite what the leaving message from the club says we already know who it is.

Right... but you don't. 🤷‍♂️

It'll be interesting to see if he poaches any of our players.

You would hope not but he's now got to think solely of Aldershot.

I think Kiki will follow Scott, maybe Gidaree and Harvey.

Not one of our players, but I think one of his first signings will be Jacob Borgnis on a season long loan.

I was just thinking that - in his Aldershot interview on YouTube, Scott said he had a couple of exciting players lined up already and talked about bringing in players who have pace to burn - so my guess is Harvey and Jared are on their way to Aldershot, and he’ll get Basil in on loan too. Maybe Kiki too?

Absolutely gutted, but not at all surprised he’s left us for Aldershot. A nice interview by Ade on our website too  and feels like it’s been handled well, just hope we got some decent compensation and that Scott has a great time there.

We need to crack on and appoint a new manager asap so that we don’t miss the boat retaining and rebuilding the team. Interestingly Scott said that he can’t take Yella with him, so might he be our next manager?

My exact thoughts with Yella being the next manager , seems to hint at it
