Thank you Scott

It seems much more appropriate to have this on a separate thread.

I'd like to thank Scott for all his hard work as both a player and manager.

In my view one of the best players to pull on the Amber and Blue he has scored some very special goals and technically is unquestionably one of our most gifted ever players.

He took on the managerial role from two club legends at a difficult moment when I was fairly certain we were on our way down.

His subsequent seasons have shown an amazing ability and resourcefulness to recruit quality players and secure our status at this level.

Memorable cup runs and so close to the ultimate glory of the 3rd round proper. A great bloke and superb ambassador for our club. I'm very sorry to see him leave us. Can only wish him the best of luck for the future.

So sadly it's now official.
Scott is no longer our manager.
After more than eight years with us, Scott is moving on.
His first game for us was away to St Ives back in March 2018.
The club's official website record of this game says that the crowd that Tuesday evening was 179.
I'm very pleased to be able to say that I was one of the 179 who witnessed his Slough debut.
The first home match programme produced after this game had Bakes and Unders in their management notes saying
"We were delighted to add two experienced players in Matt Day and Scott Davies just before the transfer deadline. Both have fitted straight into the dressing room and have made positive contributions already".
Little did we know then exactly how great a positive contribution Scott would make to our football club.
I'm truly gutted to think that last Saturday's game was Scott's last one for us.
I cannot deny that I had a lump in my throat after the final whistle went and Scott walked towards us fans behind the goal to celebrate a win in front of us for the last time.
It isn't just the on the field achievements in those eight years that I will remember so vividly and warmly.
Scott is a true gentleman.
A real example to us all in how to treat other people.
He has always gone out of his way to talk to us fans, and I for one have so enjoyed the times when I've been able to chat with him.
I'm going to miss hearing my wife say to me every Saturday evening during the football season
" Have you seen  Scott's after match video yet ? "
and when I'd say yes she'd always ask
"What did Scott say ?".
I would always give the same reply, whether we had won , lost or drawn.
" Scotty was honest as usual."
That was,and is, Scott.
Always speaking from the heart exactly as he saw it.
So Scott is off to Aldershot.
Our loss is most definitely their gain.
Those Aldershot fans don't know how lucky they are .
All the very best of luck to you Scott in your new venture.
You deserve this opportunity.
Thanks for everything that you've done for our club Scott over the past eight years.
You've been immense and its been an absolute pleasure having you as our manager.
