Good appointment IMO, knows the division, used to working with a lower budget side, wants to bring through youth whilst knowing enough senior type players to get the balance right.

Did a decent job with Hampton and also seems like a good guy.

I have my reservations but certainly willing to give him a fair crack of the whip. As it’s been mentioned numerous times before, I just hope he’s been given a fair budget and not told to rely on youngsters.

I agree with that Russ. We as fans have been massively lucky to have Neil and Jon, then Scott who were all so very open ans honest with the fans all the time. It is a model that has worked extremely well for the last 15 years at Slough so strongly hope that Alan will continue that trend.

Thought he came across very well in his interview and I like the comment about Hampton and in 65 weeks only being in the bottom 4 for 1 week of it.

We all know it's going to be juts as tough, if not tougher in the league again next year, but hopefully we can see another successful transition of Slough managers and players and start to build towards more success.

Ill assume it's not, so, there is a whole article on the website introducing him, his history in the game etc. There is an interview with him on Slough's YouTube channel and, as RR said, Google is your friend if you want more info.

Donovan Chislett was appointed as First Team Assistant Manager to Alan Julian at Hampton & Richmond Borough in May 2024. He served alongside first-team coach Luke Ruddick during Julian’s tenure as manager before Julian departed for Slough Town in December 2025. [1, 2, 3]

Those "support" people will be important. With Chico and Yella already gone, I wonder about Wines, Phillips, Louis and Case (obviously the academy role but 1st team one?). Will be interesting to see who he ends up with.

I’m a little surprised Jules’ back room team hasn’t already been announced? Would you not expect it in the same announcement as his? Or at least a line saying this is still being finalised and will be confirmed soon?

Possibly could have depended on a couple of factors.

When was it confirmed to AJ that he had the job.

And maybe it wasn't a simple decision for his preferred backroom staff to just accept his offer.

Who knows.
