Better chance of predicting the score than predicting our starting 11 😅

We have a large squad that will either be trimmed or self trim over the coming weeks. But whoever has played pre-season, it's been attractive, passing football and we've been making good chances. I'm looking forward to the Lewes match and will be there.

Surely we can only take 16/17 forward that means at least half a dozen without a club after the start of the season… and to be honest not one of them has looked out of place in pre season…

A positive pre-season in full, I’m feeling way more confident about the season than I was a month and a half ago. I expect Mcnulty to be a massive player for us this season as he was the sort of player we was missing for large parts of the time we spent in the NLS.

All in all it should be an enjoyable season, stabilising is the most important thing but I wouldn’t mind a playoff charge.

  • Tally Ho changed the title to Lewes 0-4 Enfield Town

Already won half as many away games as last year! 😄

In fact, last season it took 6 games to notch four goals and we only won for the first time on the seventh outing.

Winning is, of course, a great boost to belief and confidence but I think it would be so refreshing to see an attacking free-scoring side this year. Already, from the commentary, it sounds like Billy has got them playing attractive football. Waltham Abbey connections all fired up today - three of them scored! Looking forward to the Saints on Tuesday.

I think Tuesday against St Albans will be a proper test of the squad Billy has assembled. They put Chatham to the sword today after Harry Lodovica (remember him?!) was sent off for Chatham on the stroke of half time. People usually suggest we save any conclusions until 10 games have been played, so its very early days...but we're 3 points closer to safety!

No disrespect to Binfield or Bedfont Sports etc but I really hope we can do a bit more than stay safe from two consecutive relegations! We lost 5 more games than St Albans a couple of seasons ago, when we avoided the drop and they didn't. If they'd converted just a couple of their 18 draws into wins we'd have swapped places and been where we are now, last season. But I know what you mean and 4 goals is great for the old GD at the end of the day! They sat mid-table last year but I reckon they'll be a handful this season...
