Either of those results would be very impressive against a team I expect to be in/around the play-offs. Gary McCann has been given the resources to assemble a very competitive squad. It will be my first live experience of 'Billy Ball' and I approach it with a completely open mind. I'm expecting goals.

That’s a comfortable 3 points if we just keep our heads. It’s just stupidity and naivety that’s costed us two massive points.

The positives are that we did look good against a team that is meant to be challenging this year.

Can’t get too upset as it’s only match-day 2 but that is really poor and silly.

Better team 11 against 11…. Disappointed with Sam he set the pattern confronting the officials over and over again i thought he’d be first off… As ETFC said positive was we were the better team first half…

I was absolutely shocked! Ball played out from the keeper, into midfield, out to the wingers to take on defenders. Haven’t seen this type of football for ages. What a positive that was. However, it all fell apart through stupidity. Credit where credit is due, the nine did their best but I believed at the time that it would be difficult to keep the lead.

Lets hope the players learn from this.

What to make of that? I thought this defeat smacked of a very good - but inexperienced young manager. This ETFC squad is very much a reflection of the new manager. In the first half, with Bansal-McNulty pulling the strings, they were on a different level to the St Albans side they were up against. It was refreshing - there were wingers, there was passing, there was even passing to wingers! It was a joy to watch a team playing with freedom. But then the inexperience kicked in. Hart, who had just been booked, should have known better than to kick the ball away from the St Albans coach bending to retrieve it. The ref wasn't going to do anything until the assistant decided to get involved. Thats the risk you take though if you give the ref an opportunity to make a decision. I have no idea why Tanimowo decided to approach the ref after the half-time whistle. Sam Youngs was already sailing close to the wind by approaching the ref himself, but he really should have removed Tanimowo from the situation before he managed to get himself booked twice.

The real pity is that it ended the game as a contest. I've left feeling robbed. Its not St Albans fault. Gary McCann's team was predictably workman-like without looking like world-beaters. Billy needs to ensure that type of petulant ill-discipline never happens again. If it means shipping out good players, then so be it. Over 1,000 people paid to enjoy 90 minutes of football, and it feels like the actions of 2 players deprived the punters of that spectacle.

As usual from my armchair I can only praise the players left to play half a game only to concede in the extra time.

However, regarding those sent off I have to agree with CC comments. No matter how good a player is he is not worth his place if he cannot show enough mental discipline to be able to complete a full game. Otherwise he will be targeted by other teams.

 On another matter I would also ask that perhaps the powers to be could arrange to update the history of the current squad.

Disappointed & Angry 😠 

Disappointed because we were all over them in the first half and could have been 5-0 up if we hadn't squandered all five chances.

Disappointed that our heroic efforts with nine men were stolen at the last gasp...a draw under those circumstances would have been amazing 👏🏻 

Angry at the unprofessional ill discipline that led to the two red cards...unforgivable.

Hoping for less of both emotions Saturday 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Just watched Billy's interview. Not quite sure whether to be disappointed, surprised or angry that he said he didn't criticise the two who were sent off when he spoke with them?!?

The lino making that incorrect decision just on half time to award a throw-in the wrong way changed the game. Also the only time the St Albans players livened up the whole game was when they all ran  at the ref in unison to get someone sent off.  Lots of 'housery' going on with their bench during the end of the half as well. Town would have easily won the game by two or three goals with 11 players. Least said about the ref the better. You could tell immediately from his theatrical over-long interactions with the players and constantly breaking the flow of the game that he was a prima dona
