Surprised about the negative comments … it seems a few are not yet convinced of BillyBall football yet…. I have never been this confident in a team being successful… i can see promotion and a good cup run … 4-2 win….

Billy seemed confident about whoever comes in as replacements and no doubt they ll want to put in a performance that leaves Billy with a nice headache.

3 2 away win.   Night and day difference between styles of play from past couple of seasons to this.

Its not that I doubt Billy-Ball, its that Brentwood are receiving significant investment from Barry Hearn. He owns 20% of the club and has recently injected a six-figure sum into the club. Their stated aim is to achieve 3 promotions within the next 5 years and reach the football league! Their squad now includes the likes of Harry Gibbs - who won promotion to the National League with Hornchurch a few months back, and Freddie Sears. So you have to assume that they will be in and around the promotion places come the end of the season. At this stage, with fitness/understandings still being built, I anticipate that we may suffer a narrow defeat.

Like everyone, I'm enjoying the football we are beginning to play. It was also interesting to hear Billy say on the David Square YouTube channel that after 3 games he's revised his stated aim for the Chairman from 'top 10' to 'top 7' (and therefore the play-offs, given the new format). No doubt injuries, signings and luck will have a significant say in whether he can achieve that outcome.

I'm already wondering how Billy's ETFC would've fared at Step 2 last season - or if we were to win promotion, next season. Would this style of football be more effective than some of the stuff Gavin treated us to? Would it be much too open? Hopefully we get to find out - perhaps even facing a Step 2 side in the Cup/Trophy this season?

A great advert for football at this level… Two teams playing passing attacking football… this could turn out to be a tremendous result as Brentwood looked more than useful… What a tackle by Mensah  when only 2-1 up and the quality of the third goal was right up there… Potential champions ?  Definite play offs… and a decent cup run coz i can’t see Billy letting a lower team beat us.which has become the norm recently….

I had spotted that. 4 games in - yes FOUR - and I'm already wondering whether we've got a 'Danny Cowley' on our hands. Before Cowley moved to Braintree and Lincoln, he secured multiple promotions with Concord. Anyone know whether Billy is on any kind of contract?
