Slough vs Braintree

I am hoping the score line is 2:1 to Slough, or at least a point. If Braintree win that will widened the gap between us and getting out of the bottom four.

If this doesn't happen at home, well enough is enough and AJ and his cowboy assistant MUST GO.

Agree that if we lose to Braintree on Saturday the pressure will really be on AJ and his tenure.

Saturday has to be D-Day? Braintree are just above the relegation zone, 4 points above us. If we lose we could be 7 points adrift which may not sound overly excessive but when you’re not gaining points that 7 is likely to increase. Some might say you need to give Jules at least 10 matches but the way it’s going we could be still pointless and by then could be too late to recover.

We have to be picking up points on the teams around us, simple as.

And at home I'd say that should be 3 points.

If we are being honest, does anyone have any confidence in AJ and his assistant. After not winning a match at this level for over 4 months, why would you choose the same assistant who was a failure before, that in itself is a crazy decision.

MPR, it doesn't matter what we say on here about our management.

Results and how much time our owners are prepared to give them is all that matters.

As I said before if we lose Saturday's game this could be the final straw.

I'd say it depends how we lose it(if we do).

Narrow defeat, perhaps unlucky? Then cut some slack.

Thrashing? Could be goodbye.

What if we play really well, the opposition goalie has a worldie and we’re extremely unlucky but we still lose the next 3 matches, do you still cut them slack?

AJ had a poor record before joining Slough, his poor record has continued with us. He is now hiding when doing interviews, he should front up and be a man about our performance and results, not hide behind the useless Dom who says there were positives in these results, perhaps he should tell the league that if/when we get relegated on current performance.

Difficult decision to make but owners know that time is of the essence if they want to have any chance of avoiding the drop.

Leave it too late get cast adrift and you can say goodbye to the division and thousands of pounds in lost revenue.

Walton have seen the writing on the wall and have acted swiftly after 6 games.

Slightly different with a -18 goal difference after 6 games but the principle is the same.

It is difficult to see the owners' current modus vivendi surviving relegation to Step 3. They would either have to deploy a much larger budget in an attempt to secure an immediate return to Step 2 (and there is no guarantee of that necessarily succeeding) or accept that staying in the lower league (maybe in theory to rebuild) would reduce considerably their ability to recruit and retain players good enough to be sold on directly to clubs in Step 1 or even the EFL. One imagines that any player starting to perform half decently at the lower level would, as is the modern fashion, be looking to secure an upward transfer round about Christmas time and not be short of potential suitors. I guess one has to hope that the apparent gap between how the management team seem to assess how the team is performing and the observations of people actually attending the matches closes pretty quickly.

Braintree have the lowest average home attendances in our league, 529.

At best they would probably only have about 50 fans that travel to away matches…. & they wouldn’t all be by coach.

So I doubt very much this is the first or will be the last time this season they cancel a fans coach due to lack of interest.

Braintree have a very poor away following and a lack of interest in coach travel is not surprising.
