The AJ interview after Slough vs Braintree

Recommended Posts

For [****!!****]s sake another soft interview, if AJ wants the fans behind him he got to give us the results that we crave. AJ might be a football fan, but he isn't a Slough Rebel. I will not get behind you because you have put my club in jeopardy of being relegated from this league and I will NEVER forgive you for doing that. Be a man and walk away, as you said it yourself- You haven't been good enough, so p*is off and let us try and get out of this mess you put us in. Now your excuse is to hide behind the young players, what a coward. As a matter of fact the players on the Braintree side had a lower average age.  Every club in this league has got injuries, some have got financial problems and some have got pressures of bigger ambitions, but for a manager to blame the young players is ridiculous. Even Scott Davies has built a young side down at Aldershot, do they get results? In steps Alan Hansen "You don't win anything with kids" quote. It is just best if you go AJ and leave the club in peace. The Slough fans don't want you.

What other manager that comes in to replace AJ will be a 'Slough Rebel'?

Whenever you build a team that consists of young players from lower levels it's always going to be a risk that it wont pay off.

That's the gamble the club takes with this philosophy.

Scott is doing ok at Aldershot for now but don't forget he was on the cusp of getting Slough relegated.

Cusp of getting Slough relegated?

Last 3 seasons

22 points clear
12 points clear
11 points clear

In the bottom 3 for 8 match days out of 138?

That is not on the cusp of relegation!

AJ said that the results and the performance after 6 games is not good enough, but AJ doesn't get it. The performance and the result after 1 game isn't good enough. How can you play 6 games and don't have a point, and not looking like getting a point. At this stage if AJ cared about Slough he should walk away NOW. This is the problem when you recruit friends and family and not the best candidate.

I expect any manager or player to be a football fan, because they like football like me and others, and that is why they do what they do, so why did AJ have to say it? It doesn't make any difference to me, apart from make me more annoyed, as if he is doing the job because he doesn't like football- it was in my opinion a stupid comment to say, of course it would be great if our manager had a connection to the club, ie, being a former player or being born in Slough, but that is not the case, like a Brian McDermott.

AJ I think it is definitely time to move on now.

Time is up for AJ, let's just look at the facts, of the teams that got relegated last season these are the points they had after the first 6 games:

Eastbourne had 2 points.

Enfield had 3 points.

Chippenham had 4 points.

Bath City had 8 points.

Of the teams that avoided relegation last season their first 6 games points tally was:

Dover Athletic had 9 points.

Farnborough had 5 points.

Hampton &Richmond Borough had 16 points.

Please note, that no team has ever avoided relegation from the National League South (or its predecessor, the Conference South) after starting the season with zero points from their first 6 games.

Thank you very much AJ.

Why do you keep repeating yourself on different threads?

Annoying rubbish you keep spouting.

AJ was finished for me when he decided that the first priority in an interview was to kiss the arses of Hampton supporters rather than attempt to explain the latest clueless debacle he oversaw.

And when he bought defender in on loan from Bromley.

His words were i have a lot of affection for Bromley .

He was supposed to be the Slough Manager and never acknowledged the Rebel Fans.

Why can't managers have an affection for another club?

Scott certainly had a big affection for Aldershot and Bakes with Farnborough which we all knew about.

Wrong way round but AJ did praise Slough fans after the Hampton game.

There us no problem having an affection for another team, as long as you are producing the results on the pitch. When that doesn't happen you have a problem on your hands.

I don't see the connection.

I would say the majority of managers will support or have an affection for another club.
