Drury will leave either in summer or next year

I can see Drury leaving in the summer as a league club or a full-time team will snap him up. He quite clearly is a class above some of the other players and would not look out of place in div3. He had trials at Derby n Gills and did ok there. Got a couple of goals in gills reserves. He must get frustrated playing for us sometimes. Be interesting to see how much we wld get for him tho. prob only £10k knowing the board. what we got for Hatch was a disgrace, he had so much potential.

Frankly, given Liam's lack of experience in the Conference and lukewarm scoring record (save the last three games of last season), I think it was good business.

Bearing in mind you can't command a huge fee these days, that Hatch wasn't and still isn't a proven goalscorer, and that Abbey and Haworth have scored around the same as Liam did last year, I think it was very good business by the club.

To be fair at the time we needed the money, remember those days before a certain mr.gladwish and our cup run when we were REALLY poor?! I think some of the comments on here about Hatch on here are a bit harsh though,we all know he was a very good player who could create something out of nothing due to his sheer effort, and you've got to remember he didn't play as many games as Abbey or Hatch...that said he was overrated.

Admittedly your right that Abbey scores more but your statistics exaggerate it a bit wink.gif If you go on conference alone; Abbey has only scored 6 conf goals in his 9starts and 9sub whilst liam scored 7 conf(17starts+5 sub)...

Well for the sake of arguement, let's call a sub appearance 1/2 a match then Ben has 6 goals in 14 1/2 matches a ratio of 0.414 whilst Liam is 7 in 19 1/2 a ratio of 0.359.

So it doesn't matter whether you count all games or just League, Ben still comes out on top.

I think the fact that Hatch's contract was due to expire soon had a lot to do with it. If we hadn't sold him when we did, he would have walked for nothing in the end.

Definatley good business, and lets face it, he wasn't as great as everyone seems to recall. His goals to chances ratio was very poor. But his work ethic made him a fleet favorite.
