On the bright side

1 We have a rich ambitious, forward thinking chairman whos preperared to invest in the club, nice change

2 We have young manager who has worked with some of the best business who could have only learnt from this experience still think we need a more experienced coach or assistant manager on the coaching system

3 On the whole a young squad who again could have only learnt from this experience

4 We are staying were we belong in Billericay with all the finical benefits of the move to Basildon

5 I feel we are only another goal scorer and a few midfielders away from having a very good team to challenge to promotion from the off next season

6 Danny has signed already for next season and he is a proven goal scorer and playing at a lower lebvel I dotn think a goal a game is beyond him

There's literally tons to be positive about at the moment

1) In 2004 our average gate is just under 450 (447.5) - considering we've played a few teams who brought next to nobody that's pretty good.

2) The pitch is going to be sorted out over the summer - not before time!

3) Work has already started on rebuilding the clubhouse, once the local cup finals are out of the way (Mid-May) this will apparently start in earnest.

4) If Justin can bring in players like Hockers and Dorms when he's got no budget, who knows who he'll be able to sign with a few bob to spend

5) Practically every activity we do on and off the pitch is set to increase next season, so now is the time to get involved! Talk to Andy T or Gaz - there's loads of work to do and many hands make light work!

Sorry, that should have read "when we've got the league title wrapped up by the end of January "

Seriously though, there's a lot of work to be done on the playing side if we're to bounce straight back: We've consistantly under performed in the "big" games, the "must win" ones that is and we've generally not found a high enough level of consistancy. Against that it is a young squad who will have benefited tremendously from a season's experience and those players that stay will show the benfit next season. Pre-season will be vital, we can't afford a slow start to the season.

The summer is getting shorter: after the Northwood game there's a 2 month gap before the players report back for training, and only about 10 weeks before pre-season friendlies begin.
