Cr@p draw for you boys, you can't fancy this one! The chance of being stuffed by an Essex "Pub" side!!. Should be a cracking game and it's whoever takes their chances on the day. Remember, we turned over a few connie teams and a league side (robbed against Tranmere too!) last season and we have improved drastically since then!

we're just a pub team from essex so there's nowt to worry about really...just nip down to the old stadium ...stroll around and then scarper with the 1st round draw in the bag....

Well i was worried about this team and all the league rejects they have signed (caskey, bayes, purser...) but if they are just a pub side from essex then can't wait to put at least 4 past em like we did to daggers last season, the pub team nearby <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Uncle Urchin - have you actually read the thread. Absolutely no mention of 'just a pub team from Essex' apart from what seems like one of your own people. And I think the fact that, with one exception, we're not over the moon about the draw and have said that it could be a tight game actually shows a lot of respect to your team. So stop the s**t stirring and let the players do the talking in a couple of weeks time.

if you want me to be serious I'll say this...I think its a tough draw but one we can win...especially with home advantage....you lot probably think the same so no offence will be meant and none taken by us...

 

good banter...a good cup tie and a good drink win lose or draw is our motto....

Quite right, Stu. Our FA Cup 4th qualifying round draws for the three seasons before this one were of course (in chronological order) Burton away (our Ryman-winning season - Burton were in the Unibond then, but were near the top and went on to be champions), Margate at home (Conference rivals) and Exeter away (just relegated from the league), so we certainly have been hard done by recently. However, we did manage to win two of those three ties, of course...

Lets not forget last year, in particular - we feared for getting through at Exeter, but we did so, only to draw Chester away - yet we got through that as well - lets repeat similar feats this year!!

On Sunday, I spent a few minutes deciding what would be my least favourite draw & realized it was a toss up between another Conference Club away (my condolences to Farnborough, Leigh & York) & travelling to a club from a lower level, but with stashes of cash. So my joint bete noires were Barnet and Hornchurch away .... & hey presto!!!!

 

Time, calm reflection & the wise observations of those posters, reminding us of previous occasons when Lady Luck was also dropping mumber twos above our heads, as the balls were coming out the bag, have together calmed me down a little.

 

So much so that this will give you a fair idea of my current, much more philosophical, frame of mind:-

What's parking like - is there a car park or is it a case of finding a space in the nearest side street?

There is parking behind the stadium for about one hundred and if its dry there is additional parking (up on the top field). You may park on Bridge Ave, but beware traffic wardens, trying to earn their gold stars, wheels on curbs is a no no <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
