Another marketing opportunity for the Shop

Recommended Posts

This is a proposal for next season according to Confguide:

From next season all players will be given squad numbers and all players will have their names on the back of the shirts. This will give the teams higher profile like the league teams already do especially with live Sky games.

So will you be able to have your shirt with the name and number of your favourite player, and will Liam be given 666 as his squad number?

A great idea, especially as there's the likelihood of more TV coverage of the Conference on Sky from next season. However, is the shop up to it?

With no disrespect to everyone involved, they did a superb job last season, providing shirts, scarves and hats etc., as the season snowballed into a league winning one, but as the shop stands at present it doesn't have the room or the facilities, so I presume the work would be done elsewhere. Could they manage possibly several hundred orders of Jacksons, Stadharts and McKimms?

I do hope so, I've been proud to wear my colours both home and away, and to add the name and number of a favourite player would only add value to a cherished item of clothing.

Make mine a Jackson.

I often think the 1-11 system is best especially at lower league and non-league levels.

Think back acouple of seasons when we used mant loan players and trialists some poor lad would have ended up this 60 on his back.

there must also be a cost for the club.

although it is probably about a tenner to get a name and number on the back of a shirt you can multiply this by a few as they probably get through more than one shirt a season.

Then when next seasons derek bryan goes AWOL the money, shirts etc are wasted.

Great Idea ! I would be proud to have the name 'Affor' on my back with 44 (four foot four).

May be 'Skinner' with number 4.

If it is introduced, hopefully we can avoid the Aylesbury 'Duckworth Lewis' method, when their players had squad numbers printed in the programme but changed to other numbers on the day we played them.

Mitre are coming on board as sponsors, and all registered players will get a free pair of boots.

If you take part in a televised live match then the home team gets (I think) 5K and the away team 3K plus some travelling expenses.

Televised games will be either on a Sunday or on a Monday evening.

If there is two up two down, then the second promotion spot will be decided by a playoff btween teams in 2nd - 5th spots, but they must have league standard grounds.

I think that's about it!
