Amazingly, both my trains today were on time !! Mid you, the next fast Cannon Street train this morning was delayed 30 minutes due to Severe Weather - quite how one train is on time & the next is 30 minutes late due to severe weather is beyond me - the weather certainly didnt get worse in that time !!

Deary me Alan........You haven't caught on yet? Your train was said to be on time, because it was really the train from 2 hours ago that was late.......And the 3 trains in between were cancelled!......I learnt all this years ago waiting on Greenhithe Station whilst freezing my conkers off!

There are lies, there are damned lies,......then there are Railway Timetables!

They're not that clever these days AFF - I can never understand when they say "Services are delayed by 30 minutes" when its a half hourly service anyway, so the late running 9 o'clock is effectively the 930 anyway. If they simply announced it as the 930, no-one would be any the wiser, but they dont, so upsetting their stats & the passengers !

A bit difficult when everything is monitored by data computers, with one company ready to claim against another depending on which company the delay gets attributed to.

Maybe if you knew what you were talking about then you wouldn't ridicule the system so much.

People automatically criticise South Eastern for delays due to weather, but we are not responsible for the condition of the rails and such like - we, as a company, have to pay for a pathway for each and every seperate train. More delays are caused by Network Rail's shortcomings and vandalism by your fellow members of society than anything else.

The nation's Government set this system up - the rail companies merely have to put up with all the faults of it.

Read about all those horrid little pikey oiks that rampaged through a train with iron bars and smashed all the windows.

We need some good old medieval justice. Stocks, tarring and feathering... hanging chavs, boiling their mothers in oil, that kind of thing.

Actually to be fair it was the last desperate bit of vandalism by the last Tory government. I'm no fan of new Labour - feel they've let down their own people by worrying too much about stupid Daily Mail reading focus groups, but God help us all if that bunch of clowns led by Michael Howard ever get back in.

Time to shut up about politics. Here's hoping Saturday's game doesn't fall foul of a frozen pitch. Apart from anything else it would be a bummer of a Tuesday trip for Scaborough if it's re-arranged.

OK so who do I blame for the fact that there was no heating on the train this morning?

Claims he didn't know until a passenger told him at Woolwich.

So the heating in his cabin wasworking then!

Oh yes. If it hadn't have been working, your train would have been cancelled under health & safety.

We can't have a driver feeling the cold whilst driving.

I'm serious, btw.....

It amazes me that a bit of snow falls and our whole education system collapses. They interviewed a teacher on TV and she said that we are closing the school for health and safety reasons. Also we don’t want parents driving their kids to school (these being the mums in the huge 4x4). My <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" />. It’s just bone idle teachers wanting a day off! This then caused problems at work as the school’s that did open then shut at lunch time and the parents that were at work then had to drive in dangerous conditions to pick up their offspring. If there's not enough teachers or kids to open the school then just let them go outside in the snow and play! Rather than having them hang around street corners throwing snowball at the traffic!

On Wednesday my office put out an e-mail saying we could leave early if we wished (I work in Rochester near Blue Bell Hill), but we would have to make the time up next week!

<deep breath> I feel better now! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
