St Peter was standing at the Pearly Gates when two disreputable lads from the Gorbals wandered up.

 

When St Peter checked their names against his list, he found to his surprise that they were not named.

 

He asked the Glaswegians to wait while he went and checked. In God's office he recounted the facts and was told to inform the lads that they should "come back later."

 

A few minutes afterwards, St Peter dashed back into the room and announced breathlessly "They're gone."

 

God replied [color:"blue"] "The two Glaswegians ? Good....." [color:"black"]

 

But Peter continued: [color:"red"] "No, no, the Pearly Gates..." [color:"black"] <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/deadflies.gif" alt="" />
