Jeez, similarities growing between you two.......learn to laugh more....life's far toooooo short....

Other than our island mates, been a pretty good season for the Essex clubs....long may it continue..

Now, about them lyrics, Gazza, any chance of some new set ?

I'm laughing everytime I look on this board. Another joke?

When a Ricay fans IQ reaches 50 they should sell.

Calm down everyone, calm down as Kevin says learn to laugh more if not then at least tolerate.

Who gives a toss about Essex clubs ? well I don't wish any off them ill but I still have an interest in their results etc without actually supporting them.

Football being a deeply partisan activity, of course we don't take satisfaction from seeing our rivals doing well. Rivalry is part of what makes football at any level so fascinating. If you want to be all chummy about it then good luck to you, but I doubt you'll find such feelings here. It hurt last year when we did badly, and C*nv*y did well, and it hurt when the team fell apart 2 seasons ago, but we (the fans) stuck at it in the hope that things would get better - which they have.

Yes, Simon, but your own club exists because of the game of football. Deeply partizan activity -
so you've never ever taken interest in any other team whatsoever? Sake of curiosity how long you been 'following' Billericay Town FC?

16ish years now - my dad brought me when I got an injury and could't play kids football (aged 11 back then... I still have the scar). I "take an interest" in the mightyish Saints which developed when I lived in Southampton for 3 years while at uni.... near the Dell. Went to watch Bristol Rovers and Swindon Supermarine a couple of times when I lived in Swindoom for a year, but decided driving 100 miles down the M4/M25 to watch Billericay was a preferable option.

Simon I fully accept football is a partisan activity and yes, I badly want Braintree to beat Billericay and Chelmsford, prosper and move up the pyramid.

I also don't take pleasure in seeing you above us in the league, but if at the end of the season that is how it is then fair play to you, over the season you would have earn't the bragging rights.

Anyway I won't disagree with you about Canvey <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Good for you, Simon. Pity you're too young to have seen the Vase years and your clubs rapid climb up the non-league ladder.

In view of your 'interest' in Soton, will assume your reference to 'rivals' relates to those clubs in and around the Essex area.

BTW, no chummy aspect about it - a football fan first and foremost for which there is only one club for me to follow.

Best of luck for the run-in......title is there to be won....

Here's one for you...still remember buying the album...

Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear.

How years ago in days of old, when magic filled the air.

T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair.

But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her, her, her....yeah
