Ah, hello again, Ryan, no need to be touchy....

Asked Simon direct and referred to your goodself which is hardly 'everyone' or a fixation now is it...?

Nope, we lost a game, that's in the past so we get on to the next match....same as any other club does/would do....

Don't have anything to do with any Athletic Club

so no idea what you mean....

Judging by other split-sport utilised facilities around the U.K....Gateshead as an example....

Understand throwing events take place across/ down the central playing area and hence could

cut-up the surface - especially in the case of the hammer. The council have full control on maintenance and upkeep of the central 'grassed' area (a new pitch has been specially laid for us) and likely to take a very dim view if any overexcessive damage to said playing surface through AC usage. (Income from the football club will be well in excess of any amounts earned through Athletic Club usage).

Discus, Shot, Javelin are not that damaging. The throwing rinks/runways are of course outside of the central field.

Views from the stand, when completed, should be very good albeit will set back aways from the pitch.

I put the shot in the Mid-Essex Schools sports for St. John Payne School held at Melbourne Stadium circa 1970. The place had one concrete or brick stand on the road side (Chignal Rd?). Kevin How will things look when City kick off there next season?

I was an avid Southend Supporter in those days.
