People throughout the country were glued to their TV screens last night when an inmate from the local insane asylum escaped during a live televised interwiew with the asylum's director. Newscrews in helicopters chased this escapee into town whereupon he managed to shake off his pursuers and find time to rape two local women in a local launderette before apparently managing to overpower an off-duty prison guard, forcing him to assist in the escape by driving him out of town. Police and news reporters again caught up with this dangerous escapee by helicopter, just as the car which he had co-opted joined the motorway.

 

In a related incident, an unidentified local thespian caught in the thick of the unfolding action with his pet monkey was mistaken for the escapee, police quickly apprehending him and fatally wounding his pet in an unfortunate gunfire incident. He was rapidly set free when police realised their mistake but is now quoted as considering suing for the grievous loss of his trained capuchin.
