annoying pedestrian habits

What really gets your back up when you are driving .

1 thing that really gets me is when you let someone cross a zebra crossing 1. they dont say thanks and 2. they cross diagonally taking an age to get across .

Exactly Billy ! Politeness costs nothing.

On a similar note, though referring to 'pedestrians'.

One thing that drives me absolutely mad, is two or three women with shopping trolley's in Sainsbury, occupying the WHOLE of the aisle I'm trying to shop in, all in an Indian tribal f'ckin circle, jabbering away about absolutely nothing in particular.

A polite 'Excuse me', usually produces glares of contempt.

I've found the answer.

If my request is ignored, I just give one of the three trollies a sharp shunt with mine, which, hopefully starts a domino effect.

A slit-eyed glare as I eventually get through usually gets my message across !

Mothers who persist in pushing their kid laden strollers into the road, whilst they stand in safety on the path, trying to blackmail the motorists into stopping for them. Especially when they are just 10 yards or so from a crossing!
YES , nothing worse than a mother pushing her pram into the road while she waits on the kerb , brilliant !

I like this thread, lets PRETEND that all motorists are perfect.

Drivers, where do I start? Moan, moan, moan about bloody speed camaras. Heres a tip for you, if you don't want to get caught then don't [****!!****] speed.

I hate the bastrds that speed around needlessly, like when they see a traffic jam and they speed to get there. Quick I need to join the back of that jam as quickly as possible.

And what about those in cars and on bikes that seem to think the faster and louder they go the bigger their [****!!****] are.

And finally traffic lights. You stand there all day long watching the traffic go past. When theres finally a break you can cross without needing the lights, however the light turns red anyway and save you from any traffic that isn't actually there.

On the pram issue, a mate of mine has just retired from the good old traffic division of Surrey Police.

He and his oppo were on a 'blue & Twos' shout from Redhill to Godstone on the old A.25, obviously travelling at high speed. It happened that they had the on-board video camera switched on at the time. Going through Nutfield village, which is extremely narrow, they approached a parked van on their side of the road. About 20 yards before the van, a pram suddenly 'appeared' from behind it - Mother safely behind the van.

Luckily, there was no impact but the video footage is horrific to say the least !

I sometimes wonder where pram-pushers actually keep their brains !

y say thanks for letting them cross on a zebra crossing , it's in the high way code that you give them a right of way to cross at a zebra crossing.

what gets my goat is when i'm half way accross and they DON'T stop

Politeness is still one of the FEW things in this country that doesn't cost anything !

Whilst it is polite for pedestrians to say thanks when you stop at a Zebra crossing it does actually annoy me. I am obliged to stop at a zebra crossing when a pedestrian is waiting - I am not doing it through choice or kindness.

Also when I am a pedestrian waiting to cross a normal stretch of road I hate it when drivers stop and wave you across. I know how to cross the [****!!****] road I have no intention of walking out in front of you get on with your business and I will cross when I am good and ready!

Too right, I know there are going to be doors don't I? If I couldn't manage opening the door with all that bloody stuff I would not have picked it all up in the first place. Jesus.
