The Pride of Basildon...

...is our Ladies team!

They played their first ever League game on Sunday afternoon away to Beacon Hill Rovers and won 1-3, quite a good game and I had a good day. I'm looking forward to this Sunday, Home against Brentwood Town...

I thought Saturday's game in the Vase against Enfield was dull. Your Number 9 (I think) ripped our defence to bits all day. Tony 'Montana' Davies in goal for us had a great game and has now made the Number 1 shirt his (for now). Tony Barnes (the 6ft6 defender, who is only 19/20 and still growing!) played OK but not as well as he has done.

I don't think the scoreline was fair on us, I feel that we played better than that but that's my opinion. 0-1 would have been better. If we'd played that well against anyone else we would have beaten them.

Good Luck Enfield Town in the next round!

I know what you mean about the game being dull. I thought we were never going to score, and I was almost right! Your keeper had a blinding match, and Barnes seemed solid, even if he couldn't kick straight when clearing the ball from the area.

If you'd had a bit of luck, you could've won it 1-0.

I always enjoy the day at Basildon, you're a friendly club! All the best for the rest of the season.

Matthew : You really should concentrate and read the text more carefully and then suddenly all becomes clear

Colufan1: unusual login name, anyway I know this is a bit late but have to agree that game 21st was dull.

Our NO 9 was causing problems with your defence but as you rightly say your keeper had a great game.

You were unlucky not to nick 1-0 with a couple of decent breaks, I think in fairness 2-0 was a flattering result for us.

And just to agree with Badger, I too enjoyed my trip to Basildon as I have on my previous visits

Cheers

Even later (haven't been on here for a while) COLUFAN1 is short for COLchester United FAN and 1 'cos I was the first person to use it.

I haven't bothered usign the Basildon United board as no-one else does, bit of a waste of time really. No-one outside of the club could give a toss about it...

I hadn't been up there for about 4 months after Steve Wheeler was sacked but still updated that joke of a website for them. The club has been improved a great deal and all the Enfield fans will love it if they go back there. The ground is slowly falling to bits again and the pitch is ropey.

Their Ladies team are playing Basildon United Ladies this Sunday which I'm quite looking forward to! Not sure BULFC will be pleased with me turning up in my Col U shirt though!
