Good luck, Braintree Town FC.........

Recommended Posts

.....on the road to Wemberley at Crawley tomorrow, from me.

And special good wishes to all the new names on your forum. UIron. Iron Hammer. Mr Cheese. Three in a week! Great stuff! Its good to see demonstration of the increasing support for the Iron. Are they all Qwag Enders, I wonder? Perhaps its the climb up the table or the magic of the F.A. Cup.

Good luck to you Mark (Flag) Braintree. Good to see you're back.

The A.S.B.O. is still in place, I regret to say. Things were different when Ian_W was interested!

It's a bit crowded on their board, mind. All those new people. Amazing. A new fan actually phoned Essex Radio and then registered on the Forum in order to tell the thousands of Town fans that the game is to be broadcast live. What a super chap. I wish we could attract that many new people.

Its a tribute.

Barry! You rascal. You're not seriously suggesting that one person would register as four different persons, now are you? Why on earth would he or she do that? To swell the apparent numbers of apparent Iron fans, I suppose.

No. You must be wrong. Its too far fetched. How pathetic would that be. No. Who on earth would think of doing such a thing?

We could suggest to that Iron Webbo chap that he should check the I.P. addresses of all these new Iron fans in order to ensure that the integrity and veracity of the Braintree Town forum is not compromised or prejudiced.

You ought to do it rather than me. I don't think that I'm the most popular person in that direction. What with the A.S.B.O and all. In addition, I'm not sure that I'm that keen on Iron Webbo. He reminds me of Buzz Lightyear.

Actually, the I.P. address thing wouldn't be conclusive. I gather that if one works somewhere with a number of different computers, including those Fisher-Price Applemacthingys and various different service providers, the same person could have umpteen different I.P.addresses. Applemacs are popular with Graphic Designers and fairly commonplace in the printing industry, I believe, amongst many other places, of course.

It must be love. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" />

Why else would AFF mention their former chairman on every post? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" />

Are you the one kissing or receiving? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/alk.gif" alt="" />

Aff it is flattering that you take so much interest in our club, but let me put your mind at rest ,the people you talk about are genuine individuals and proud supporters of our club, who enjoyed their day at Crawley yesterday and will no doubt travel with us to Shrewsbury on the 5th November.

Hope this answers all your questions.

Enjoy the rest of the season.

PS Watch match of the day on the 5th ,we'll give you a wave. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

Well done on Saturday, Andy G. It will have been a great day out.

And a special well done to UIRON, Iron Hammer, Mr Cheese, and Chrissiel. I still can't get over the fact that 4 new people registered on your forum in a single week. Fabulous!

I expect that there will be some more new members join this week. 'The magic of the F.A. Cup.', etc. Fantastic.

Hi Andy.

Well-intentioned and well-meaning no doubt but there's a small mistake that anyone could make in your post, old chap. The person calling him/herself 'Mr Cheese' has posted on your forum to the effect that he/she works on Saturdays and he thoroughly enjoyed the live ball-by-ball commentary on Radio Essex. I have no doubt that you know who he/she is nevertheless.

Good luck from me in Salop[?], Andy!!

  • 2 weeks later...

And good luck again to you Iron fans from me for the match on Saturday. Enjoy the day!

Special good wishes to the two newbies, Kez and jojo. Only two this week. I expect they they will be looked after on Saturday by UIron, Iron Hammer, Mr Cheese and Chrissiel, all of whom have been rather quiet over the past 2 weeks after the initial profusion of posts following their first registrations.

Oh, by the way. AndyG. Be very careful when using the internet as a communication device. Not everybody is who or what they say they are! There are some very strange people around. Tell Mark (Flag) Braintree that I was asking for him. Huge. Enjoy Saturday, Andy!

We were at Stockport County a couple of seasons ago, and we came an honourable second. Great day out for about 7/800 Saintsfans. It wasn't the opposition who spoiled it, the bl00dy stewards at these League clubs are a different breed than Non League fans are generally used to and they did their best, ejecting half-a-dozen of our people for no good reason.

Bristol City a few years back was another good day out. Our [then] manager decided to go for it and selected an unusual 3-5-2 formation against two of the quickest wingers outside the Premiership. It worked a treat. We scored 2 and limited them to err... err... just the nine. Fantasic day, though. You would have thought we had won! The singing was loudest at "We're gunna win 8-7".

Have a great day!

AFF, if you could have seen the way Mark (Flag) behaved at Crawley you too would bad mouth him. He is a grown man and for that reason should not have been so silly. I too had great admiration for Mark. He did a great deal to get the supporters club up and running and did a great deal for the club as a whole. He needs to learn to take things tongue in cheek. He is far too serious. The forum is for banter and if you cannot take it you get out which is just what he did. However not coming to support your team because somebody upsets you is stupid. Most people will get upset about something at a football match. Thank god we dont all get up and run home never to return.
