Metcalfe v's Spencer & Saturday

Really looking forward to Saturday. Just hope the lads don't let us down because during the last few seasons in the big games we have not performed at all (ie Chesham when relegated and Maidenhead B&B Cup semi-final).

 

Anyway, the team probably picks itself apart from the decision who to play out of Metcalfe and Spencer.

 

Ryan has been playing a very well lately in central midfield, but Metcalfe has probably been one of of best players this season and is more defensive minded. I think that Veli and Ryan are a little too alike as they both want to attack, so I would play Metcalfe.

 

For some strange reason though, I think Ryan will start.

 

Also I believe Dean Palmer is touch and go for Saturday, so we'll have to wait and see if he can play.

 

A quck note to the team. Get the ball wide to Gilkes and Bubb because that's when we are at our best. Also a message to the fans get behind the team Saturday - no moaning!

yeah no moaning, for crying out loud. There's one guy who moans all the time, he knows who he is. Maybe some of you do too. All the bloody time. Lets get behind the team. Although we're playing better opposition we know we have a good chance of making it through.

If you are on about two old boys who stand just to one side behind the goal on the stand side then I know ! They just don't stop , I'm sure they have never played a game football thir life and wouldn't know a good game even if it kicked them up the [****!!****] ! Even moaned when we beat Wealdstone 6-0 last term !

 

C'mon Rebels do us proud tomorrow !

We're covered on every side. Not all the way across mind, but there's enough.

 

Metcalf has to start tomorrow. He's been instrumental in our style of play so far this season, but has to watch his mouth. Too often he says something he shouldn't to the ref and as a result gets himself into un-necessary trouble (Arlesey away anyone?). Gives the ball to feet with simple passes and protects the back four well.

 

Spencer is too much of a pretty boy in the middle for this type of game. Too often already he's shirked the challenges, and for me, that's been his big downside.

 

As for the moaners, I believe the Irish fella is called Ted something. He was in the club shop last Saturday buying a scarf I think. Him and the other bloke in the blue cap who was working on the pass gate for the Hampton game are as bad as one another. On top of those two, the worst one ever is an old fella who sits in the top corner of the away side in the stand. He's is the most annoying bloke I've ever heard. Sits with his mate 'Charlie'. Chris B will know who I'm talking about.

 

Roger's a moany old git anyway! <img src="/forums/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> He doesn't like this site so won't post on here which is why he's always on the Maidenhead site trying to wind them up.....

 

As for the game tomorrow, will be a tight one. Will be right behind the team urging them on and hope we can nick it, but expecting us to go out possibly after a replay.

Think metcalf should start, but would have pot spencer in too until he showed us what he could do on Saturday. Balance in the team is more important than playing the best players. Bubb worries me defensively, and I would prefer to have metcalf as the defensive midfielder.

 

FA cup rules state that "covered accommodation for spectators use must be provided"

 

I agree with STFCA that Metcalf talks too much - almost as much as Sammy, but nowhere near as much as Gilksey. Just that Gilks does it in a more professional manner so doesnt get booled. However I thought Metcalf was playing the defensive midfielder at a corner at Arsley and was no where near the ref. Hence all the fuss that he was sent off in error.

 

My vote for biggest moaner goes to Sven, all those on the 25 yard line far side will know who I mean.
