Harlow v Enfield Town

Recommended Posts

I think Yesterday showed that Penn should now be a permanent centre-back.It also showed that Rudi and Velendia can work together,IF there is a holding midfielder(Magona was picked to do that job yesterday).

No Negus or Morgan in the squad. Were they just dropped,or were they injured ?

Back in our championship-winning away colours of all Yellow,we put on a championship display.

PS.. Can i start the campaign for a new away kit for next season.I don't think i can face another year of red & Black stripes.

I really like the red and black. It's more unusual than the run of the mill, off the peg yellow, red or blue change kits every other team seem to have.

Why did we play in yellow yesterday? Maybe it was a laundry issue due to Tuesday's game.

Those of us that had years and years of watching DIRE opposition teams like Hayes & Yeading play against us in those colours, find it hard to accept OUR team playing in those colours.

Our away kit should be all yellow,or it should be a unique colour (That is not reminisent of other teams colours.)

The change strip was due to the fact that Harlow play in Red - but perhaps, like me, the posters on here are colour blind and did not note the colour clash.

There will also be a colour clash against Potters Bar and, I am told, there will be a change strip there.

I dont think the strip matters one way or the other so long as we keep winning.

Because TIM

We need a change strip as there is a second sponser of the strip. Now if you only want one sponser I am sure that can be arranged.

Do you sponser the yellow kit as well, Steph?

I though the yellow kit had BCL on it (last seasons sponsor). If it was the BCL kit, idoubt they have paid to any sponsor money this year.

PS..The only people who was confused about why we played in yellow, was a fan who wasn't at the game.

Alright, keep your hair on Steph.

That still only adds up to two strips. One white, one, err, not white. If the argument is that the second strip sponsor would not get his name advertised at every away game (i.e. only when we played another team in white) and thus doesn't get his moneysworth, it doesn't quite follow, as he won't get his advert when we play a team that clashes with the away strip - like yesterday. Who's name was on the yellow kit?

The preferred second (away) kit could be white as at home, but with the second sponsor's name on it, as would the third, non-white kit. So, the home team sponsor's name gets bandied about at all home games, away team sponsor's at all away games, and ETFC get to play in the sacred white as often as possible. Same as now but with two whites and a non-white, instead of one white and two non-whites...

Of course with a striped shirt (or any two-colour shirt) for a change strip, there is always the chance that either colours could clash....

I'll get my coat...........

I am not sure but maybe yesterday was practical, trying to get all the kits washed and dried over the holiday period, and people having to work, then the yellow kit was available, dunno

LS - move on, what if next season we play in red hoops at home and green diamonds away does it matter? err no. OUR history is still being created, so let's go with the flow and enjoy it; whilst we can....

The advertisement at a game with the players playing in your strip at a non-league level is neither here nor there as far as getting the "brand" known. (Unless of course we got to the third round of the cup or something but then I feel that Les would negotiate a higher fee depending on what strip is worn).

What is valuable to the sponser are the photographs that may appear in the press with players wearing the sponser's shirts.

Also the small kits that are displayed in cars which have the added advantage that they also bring funds into the club when you buy them. So there - kill two birds with one stone - show your appreciation of the sponsership and also put further funds into the club by buying and displaying the little kit in your car rear window.

Yes I have persuaded myself to buy the direct boot kit at the next home game. Seems to me that it is £3:50p well spent.

but TIM we ARE DISCUSSING IT so it is up for discussion ! lol

I agree about branding (very important in my day job)

colours: let's have something that the members are happy with and stick to it

over and above all of this is that winning trophies will bring it's own recognition

I was surprised Lovely Stuff. 'Confussion' does not come into it! I have only missed 4 games this season and we've played in the white shirts or Steph's red/black shirts in all the games I've been to.

You mentioned earlier that you didn't like the red and black because of reminders of Hayes and Yeading. Now you seem to be confused LS - Hayes play in red and white shirts. Yeading on the other hand hardly have a long history with Enfield football. EFC played them for the first time in 1990 and there haven't been many meeting since!

As long as we're winning I'll be happy regardless of the colour.

See you on Tuesday!
