Harlow v Enfield Town

Recommended Posts

Oi, leave me out of this one!!!

By the way. There is one good reason why the red and black shirts are better than the yellow ones that no one has mentioned. FUNDS!! how many supporters did you see wearing the yeelow shirt at away games? How many supporters do you see wearing the new away shirt? It makes financial sense to have changed the away shirt.

I'm quite prepared to see EFTC play in alternative colours other than Yellow for their away kit,but next time choose something unique, that no other club plays in.

The original Enfiled managed to do just that. When they ditched the yellow, they had Purple,Red/green quarters, the 'scotland kit'...etc.All kits that were not associated with any other club apart from Enfield.

So i appreciate that changing kit colours helps funds, lets just be a bit more imaginative.Next time don't just ask a few people what colour the away kit should be. (err..i like red..err i like black.)

Print a choice of strips in the programme (various unique colours) and ask ALL the fans to vote for the best.

You must admit, it was great seeing Bryan Hammett answering his critics by scoring his hat trick at GWR in the classic red and black shirt?

But it wasn't so great seeing him prove his critics right for all the games before GWR,where he also wore the red & Black.

PS...Hammett had his best game of the season on Saturday. What was he wearing?

Why come out of the closet?

Why not start the ball rolling with a questionannaire entitled 'The Fans Choice'?

Put a few combinations together and let the supporters put their mark by the kit they wish to see our team play in away from home. If the final result is acceptable to 'our' board, and the finances are available, then we won't have any issues in the future

Won't it depend on the lenght of time the sponsorship deal has to run. It would be crazy to go to the expense of buying in another strip and having the logo placed on the new shirts.

There wouldn't be a new away kit for next season, hardly fair on all those that have already bought the shirt now would it, so you'd be looking at 2007/08.
So what we'll do during next season is put something on the supporters club page in the programme to fill out & hand in.
Remember also, that it could only be basic colours ie Yellow/Blue,
or Sky Blue. If you go into specifics it's not alwways possible to get.

PS.. Can i start the campaign for a new away kit for next season.I don't think i can face another year of red & Black stripes.

Yes...I don't like the red & black stripes either. Like you LS I feel it doesn't represent football in Enfield & has connections with too many other clubs we have seen over the years.

I was so pleased to see Town come out in yellow on Saturday. It is an eye catching, smart kit that I associate with ETFC (and EFC previously).

The only Enfield kit that was original was the Red/Green, all the others copied other clubs or as you say, Scotland (Which they only wore a few times before being forced to stop).
Also, there were alot more choice in kits 10/15 years ago, now you are very limited in what you can get, both in colour & style, so like it or lump it, whatever kit we have will look like another club.

I get your point, but I'm talking non-league.No other non-league team wore the Red/Green,the very dark blue, or the purple.

Surely it can't be that hard to find a kit colour that is not reminisent of other non-league teams. Are we saying that no kit supplier does anything like the purple or a very dark blue.Anyway i can think of a quite a few shirt/short combinations that bear no resemblance to anyone else's kit.

At the time no team was allowed to wear the Navy Blue because of the Referee's kits were only Black & therefore seemed to clash under the standard of floodlights at the time (Which is why Enfield had to stop wearing them).
The major problem now with that colour is that it would cut back on revenue via souvenirs, ie both kits being blue & white.
I liked the Purple kit, though at the moment the only Purple kit available is one with a Purple body & white sleeves, it was awful.
What combinations are you thinking of that bear no relation to any other team?.
