WE,WE???

Are you a Town supporter PC? If so, you've been very quite. I have seen EVERY game Hammett has played since his arrival at the club.I have seen every game ritchie and Paul have played ...etc.As such ,i believe i have more right to comment on the performances of those respective players, than either Pretty Vacant or especially J. Cunneen (no offence Jim).

WE, WE?? What's that all about? Yes I am an ETFC supporter, and have been very quite (sic). I'm pleased that you have seen EVERY game Hammett has played since his arrival at the club. Not sure it gives you more right than me, or indeed anyone else to comment on players performances though. Tell you what, let's ask the moderator introduce a filter to ensure that no one can comment on anything unless they have seen as many matches as you. Methinks it would be a very 'quite' forum though. As I said in my earlier posting, why not support the players who are part of ETFC's best ever side (the league table doesn't lie) rather than slag them off?

PS..without wishing to single out Hammett, who i think is a nice bloke and a decent player ( when on form).I do find it interesting that two of his four MOM awards have come after the defeats to the bottom two sides in the league.

Then why do you always single him out?.

If you look at my original post at the top of this thread you would see that I do support the players. It is attitudes and actions elsewhere that I have commented on.

Positive vibes??? Positive vibes are made by picking a good side, playing well, and winning games that you should win.Hence, plenty of positive vibes last season. We have done well to get to the top of the league this season, but this is down more to the average standard of teams in this league ,rather than Town setting the world alight ,or even 'clicking' as a team.

Myself and most fellow fans can pinpoint the time when 'bad vibes' started happening this season.

When Hammett or Paul play well, i say so.They have improved their consistancy slightly in recent games, but i would say that both players have only had about 5 good games each for the Town. That level of consistancy is not good enough.

I encourage our front two when they deserve it and praise them when they deserve it,but i'm certainly not going to patronise them by shouting and praising them when they don't deserve it,just to keep up the 'positive vibes',or give them man of the match awards, just to keep up the positive vibes.

The reason i am championing Nial Ritchie of late is because he had to work his way into the side with good performances off the bench and in minor cup ties, and he is keeping his place only because he is consistantly putting in good performances, when his form dips he will no doubt be dropped, thats the way it should be in any good club.Ie.. Work to win a starting place ,and work to keep it by perfoming consistantly well.

I said months ago, that our forwards will have made it in my eyes, when they show the ability to score goals at home aginst the top half of the table sides.

I'm still waiting. But they have got the second half of the season to prove me wrong.

I think you miss the point. What is the point of constantly slagging off the team if you want them to do well? Surely that will have the reverse effect.

Get behind them, encourage them, even if you disagree with the team that is picked. We can't please all the people all of the time can we.

To be fair, we have 2 really bad results & everyone is baying for Jim & the rest of the coaching Teams Blood. Lets be honest we are still top of the league, which I don't think any one thought we would be when we started our campaign in the Southern League. As long as we finish top 4 I think that will be some sort of achievement.

Gome On You Town!!!!!

Or why not ask the management themselves why they pick a certain team?.

Could'nt agree more Arky. Maybe these people should try & do the job themselves.

Now there's a fundraiser, biggest bidder gets to pick the team. Just a thought!!!!

Take away the 'blip' game where he scored a hat-trick against GWR,and he's got 6 goals in 30 games, and one of them was a penalty.Trevor Paul (who's hardly set the world alight since his arrival) has got 9 goals in 17 games.

Indeed, and I believe one of Trevors 9 is also a penalty, so that would take his goals down to 8. While we're at it, why not take away Rudi's 10 penalties this season, that takes him down to 6 goals. We could also take away Rudi's goal in his 'blip' hat trick match against Harlow that wasn't a penalty, now he's down to 5. Out of that, one was a follow up effort to his saved penalty, and another was direct from a free kick, so he's now down to 3 from open play. Bloody hell, the way we are going, someone will soon be in minus figures. The real problem is that bugger all players are scoring to help the forwards out. We've scored 69 so far this season, of which 12 are penalties and 4 own goals. Out of the remaining 53, 28 are shared between Hall/Hammett/Paul and Smith. That means that our remaining squad have scored 25 goals between them in 29 games. Hardly prolific. Take away any goals scored direct from free kicks, and it would get even worse.

For gods sake, we are second in a division that we have just been promoted into. Grow up, smell the roses, congratulate the players and management for getting us there, and support them rather than criticise.

Excuse me!

I have made no comment on a players performance!

All I have done is point out the stats that Brian has achieved and as far as I am aware the guys responsible for handing out MOM awards are not in the habit of handing them out just to encourage!

It is not me who has carped on about Brian or who has said that the Management has let us down.

As for Pretty Vacant he has supported ETFC since the start and was in fact one of the main instigators behind it! He also supported EFC for more years than most people I know and is perfectly capable of forming his own judgements on players.

Like a lot of people I just find it a tad much that given the league we are in and the position we are in that the debth of critism on here sometimes. As i said in an earlier post even Eddie Mc C got it hopelessly wrong at times and I think that Jim has worked wonders.

If this comes across as a bit waspy I make no apologies!

Jim

Do you think that we've got enough points to avoid the drop though, I'm very worried.
