Updates -Vs- Aldershot

BBC have it down as Mario creating the assist for Minton's goal, while the Official site has it as a through ball from Sterling. Either way, the final product was the ball in the back of the net.

About 30 of us went. Brilliant support from the 6-7 people who were singing constantly for the full 90 minutes.

Have to say what a bunch of morons Aldershot have as fans. It's well known they have a hooligan problem but they seem to deny it.

Anyway great result and a spirited fightback.

Decent save. It was up the other end to where we were standing so didn't really see it.

Great evening - especially coming back from 2-0.

We really did have a get out of jail card on that one!

As Swindonshot says I didn't feel it was a penalty - Dolan went in but took the ball. The ref didn't give the penalty straight away but looked at the linesman, who was further away from the incident, and then made his decision based on him I feel. Richard made a superb save down to his left.

Shots generally ran us ragged especially their 28 (Lowes or Williams?)who had a lot of space down that right side but the lads stuck with the task to hand and we went in at half time level pegging.

Thought it was all but over when their second went in. Duffers seemed to be annoyed at Richard afterwards as when the cross came in it was quite close to the goal line. With three shots players coming in Griffiths headed it in. Think Duffers was saying Mckinney should have come off his line and claimed it. Generally the lads defended very well as Aldershot pushed forward.

The worrying thing is we didn't have any shots or half chances until the final 10 minutes or so after Keeling, Noto and Greggors had been brought on. At the moment we just don't seem creative in that last third and spend to much time building up the play and eventually losing it. It needed a direct ball through the middle for Mints to run onto before we recorded our first attempt and goal. The tactical changes worked and I wonder if Jeff may have a little swap around for the Burton game.

Shots should have claimed all three points but threw it away at the end - I know how they feel - we've been there, but the lads just kept plugging away and we obtained a lucky, and possibly valuable, point. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

Agree with the above. Until the last 5 minutes we created very little and lacked ideas in the final third.

Aldershot looked a decent side and ran us a little ragged at times. Sills and Griffifhs impressed up front and the little guy on the left gave JK a torrid time. If Crittenden had scored with that shot that hit the bar it would have been all over for sure.

What can't be questioned is our spirit which seemed sadly lacking against Gravesend. We seemed more prepared to put our foot in and fought more for the ball.

Not a brilliant performance but we grabbed a draw from the jaws of defeat which is all that matters.

Just been talking to a supplier in Canvey who went to the game last night.

He was very cold and very unhappy with 5 minutes to go so he left at 2-0.

It wasn't until he got home at about 10.30 that he found out they had drawn.

I was a little disappointed with Jeff’s comments in the Echo about fans talking about what players should be played on a web site. Does the club realise the only reason we are so 'ill-informed' is because the official web site tells us absolutely nothing. Of course people are going to assume a player is fit if no one is informed otherwise.

gutted i couldnt make the game, sounds like it was fun (well the last 10 minutes anyway)

Saw that from Kingy. Sounds like he wasn't happy with the radio interviewer as well.
