cheap day out or ripped off?

Recommended Posts

Surely the league must step in and do something, i'm all for trying to get more people in at a special offer rate (£5 V Uxbridge) but to charge fans of clubs who bring a lot of travelling support extra just so they can cash in on extra revenue is cheating us fans, when i went back in at half time the £8 had been rubbed off to a £7 which i assume is standard price for them with programme.

I think that clubs should give the league there addmission prices at the start of the season so every fan of every club will pay the same.

I wonder if berko will run a special addmission price of £5?

The admission price was £7.00 when we turned up at 4.40pm.

One of our group went and purchased 5 programmes for the group seated at a table in their bar. When we went in to the ground we were charged £8.00 with a programme thrown in!

Talk about making money out of genuine fans!

i think that is unfair though as we have one of the bigger grounds in our league it would cost more to run than say eveshams who have a smaller ground. also yesterday was our local derby against chippenham and there were about 10 extra stewards there - its not fair that we have to pay the cost because of the league putting prices at a set amount because we have derbys where kings lynn dont have any so why should we have to charge the same?

i think if a club are going to do specail offers the league should know before - so that the club cant say well you paid £2 more because last week was a special offer

If they were providing extra stewards or match day staff I might understand it but I didnt even notice ONE steward in the ground.

I think you may have missed my point Zack, what i was implying was for each club at the start of the season will give there admission price to the league so for example aveley will state to the league they will charge £7 for every league game whether it be enfield town, dartford or wingate & finchley.

If we had added an extra £1 on sat we would have made £800 extra.

ok sorry i read it wrong i thought you ment league to tell clubs what prices are to be.

but still chippenham will cost more because we have to keep there fans away from us and have to open more turnstiles etc which in the end will cost more. but i suppose we coped as we have never put it up before - i have said our prices are a bit low - £1 extra yesterday would have made us £2,268 extra <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />.

i think it will stop certain clubs charging more - also there should be limits for Somerset Premier Cup games as we went to mangotsfield on a saturday and i paid £5 to get in i think it was as a kid - then i went back 10 days later on the tuesday and to see a weakend bath side (because we dont want to go on in this) i also paid a fiver

Also something needs to be don about errea cup as that was same price as a league game at our home ground - against, Mangotsfield lol

Very early in the season Enfield FC travelled to Aveley ,They Didn't rip us off at all,They let us in for nothing , Admittedly we have a smaller travelling support around 40 of us amongst 166 but I thought it was a nice gesture on their part and totally unexpected ,Perhaps they wanted to recoup their losses on that day .If memory serves me right I believe some of our people were speaking to Dean Nyman's father at this game.

It was £6:50 to get in & £1:50 for a programme.

What they did was a very old tried & trusted retail trick as in, £8:00 admittence (inc programme).

At the turnstile I paid £8:00 as I wanted a proggy while Rock Steady paid £6:50 as he didnt.

All you had to do was politely question the bloke on the turnstile, weather you should have to do that is another debate but for me it felt no diffrent than walking into Arky's shop!!!
