And Ryan, quite a few people (including some City fans) have their facts wrong regarding smudge - he was always off at the end of the season, in no way sacked.

Smudger wasnt sacked and noone knows the person who claimed that he was.

 

Barry I agree you are one of the better ryman clubs in terms of crowds and recent league position, your day will come maybe via the playoffs next year fingers crossed.

Some fair points being made. I even agree in part with Bub regarding the Canvey team should/would p*ss this league. I think there is an awful lot of mediocrity in the Ryman Prem. The set standard isn't as high as I thought it would be. The problem is like the Championship it can be a bitch to get out of!...especially with only one automatic place up for grabs! Nothing is a given. Taking nothing away from Braintree but they had to grind out a fair few results hitting last minute winners on a regular basis. Throwing money at the team is no guarentee either. It has to be well managed and luck does play a apart. Its a tough league with a lot of uncompromising teams if most lacking in skill and technical ability.

I am pleased to see in my absence things have calmed down.

 

Smudger was a valued member of the team & very good at his job. Hence he is now moving up in the world.

BBB should cruise the league but as Fish points out players may drop their playing level. Should this happen I am sure JK will replace these players. So as Sean states Chelmsford City Ryman League Champion 2006/07.

Just so you Ricay guys know - I will not be concurring with the views expressed by my CCFC colleagues above (whether they are tongue in cheek or not).

It may be a case of "oh me of little faith", but I prefer to wait and see how 2006/2007 gels out before commenting further.
