Spooky Comparisons

1)What does Sir Geoff Hurst & Peter Crouch have in common????? (apart from the many obvious)!

Answer: In 1966,Geoff Hurst(then an inexperienced striker) had 5 caps & 1 goal at the start of the World Cup,replaced injured star player Jimmy Greaves & went on to claim a World Cup Final Hat-trick.

Peter Crouch, also an inexperienced striker for his country has also had 5 caps & 1 goal for his country leading up to this years World Cup. Replacing Rooney? Another English Hat-trick in the Final maybe?? You never know!

For all you Newcastle fans out there. Do you really want Glenn Roeder to become your next manager? Have a look & think about it!

A scary piece of symmetry for Newcastle fans as they await Glenn Roeder's confirmation as manager.

In 1995,when Roeder was in charge of Watford, the Hornets finished 7th in the Championship but went on to be relegated the following season.

In 2002,Roeder led West Ham to 7th in the Premiership only for the club to be relegated in 2003.

So,where did Newcastle finish last season in the wake of Roeder's sterling efforts as caretaker boss? You've guessed it,7th.
